  1. I can almost hear this Sean Green guy getting booed from here.
  2. I really like night-road Hardens odds vs. some guy.
  3. Guz tried to make it interesting, but when your facing the Reds, its just not that easy.
  4. Whether the Cards win or lose, I find it encouraging that Piniero got smoked for 7 runs in 5 IP by a bad team.
  5. He's staying in the game. hopefully it comes back to bite them.
  6. I was about to say it will be hard to bring him in all the way from Iowa, but then I remembered that they opted to do a less sensible move instead.
  7. I know its just the Reds, but Im really impressed with Gorz.No idea what his fate will be when Lilly returns though.
  8. Aaron Miles didnt play for Iowa today. I hope this doesnt mean hes on a plane to Cincinatti as we speak.
  9. Wow, thats huge relief. I thought they were going to do something sensible.
  10. Maybe hes just not a selfish **** and understands hes more valuable out of the pen.
  11. John Gaub? BJ Ryan? Blake Parker? Justin Berg? If Heath Bell were available an affordable, sign me up, but I have no interest in those other guys.
  12. Why not? Even if hes not ready to catch, Id rather have him in an important pinch hitting situation than Hoffpauir or Baker, so just bring him on up, give Koyie the start Wednesday and then Soto starts Friday.
  13. I don't consider first place by percentage points "first place" What is it? Second place?? I cracked up at this. Whatever it is, its the equivelent of being up by 1 point in an NBA game with 20 minutes to play.
  14. Super Alfonsos mushroom really wore off quick once he was given friday off. Hopefully if he smashes enough bricks, he can find another one.
  15. Relax, their just trying to boost Miles trade value. Their hoping for a sack of sunflower seeds in addition to the 3 bats. Im going to go with Hoffpauir. We need that defensive replacement outfielder in late inings, and then Fuld will probably follow when Reed comes back, and then they both come back in September/
  16. I think I agree with you. When you have some really good looking relievers down on the farm, thats who should be brought up to fill the role if relief is what you need. Thats why I dont understand why Shark is even up here when Gaub, Parker, Berg, and Ryan should all be in line for that job.
  17. Im excited and cautiously optomistic about Gorzos debut.
  18. Cueto already checking the elbow. Hes just noticed that it has Property of Dusty Baker tatooed on it.
  19. Hes better than Bradley, and cant be much worse defensively. I cant see him making it as a middle infielder, as hes simply not built for it. I cant see him leaping over a guy trying to break up double play. In a perfect world, we could trade Bradley to someone willing to take on a decent chunk of his salary, and use that money to get a 2B or SS.
  20. We have the arms, we just need to figure out the configuration. Between Grabow, Marshall, Stevens, Marmol, Guzman, and Gregg, were good. As for the 7th spot, Id just assume try Ryan, Gaub, or Parker over anything that would be available through waivers. Yeah, were going to need a closer next year, but I cant see anyone of value being available through waivers.
  21. I guess he just wanted to give us more bang for our buck. The price: our blood pressure. I wonder how Mr. Santos doing. Ron? Ron? oh crap.
  22. Just out of curiosity, is anyone listenin to this on WGN radio? Im really interested in what Ron has to say right now.
  23. I wonder how close Cashner is to major league ready. I could see him coming up and doing what Samardzjia did when he first came up last year.
  24. Hes #2 in wins and leads in ERA on one of the better pitching staffs in the league. ROY.
