  1. plus, assuming Bartman had been on a potty break, 1 of the other 10 or so sets of hands reaching for that ball would have caught it and gone down in infamy, and assuming nobody was reaching for the ball, not so slick fielding Moises Alou probably never catches the ball and the inning goes down as planned and Gonzalez boots the ball anyway. In this scenerio, theres no such thing as a Bartman Ball, and Alex Gonzalez becomes the most hated player in Cubs history.
  2. How about the game vs. the Rockies in 08, maybe 07 when Eyre and Howry combined to let a 7 run lead evaporate in like seconds and then we came back in the bottom of the 9th. On the other end of the coin, there was the game in 06 when the Mets scored 11 runs in an inning including 2 grand slams.
  3. 8th inning of game 6 of the 2003 NLCS when Miguel Cabrera grounded into what should have been a routine double play to Alex Gonzalez. As we all know, it wasnt so routine.
  4. If the Cards were trying to immitate the Cubs 2008 post season, they nailed it. And there World Series drought hits 3 years. losers.
  5. At the time, I think "too much" was Felix Pie and Rich Hill. Speaking of which, when do we get our PTBNL from the Orioles?
  6. Padilla has been very solid since going to the Dodgers and Piniero has been going back to being Joel Piniero the past few weeks, so hopefully this one ends here.
  7. There were rumors of something like Felix Pie and Matt Murton for him, maybe Rich Hill was involved, but nothing substantial. Wouldnt that have been nice?
  8. All I know is the Dodgers need to take 1 of the St. Lou games because I dont like thir chances if it comes down to Carpenter vs. Wolf again no matter whose house its in.
  9. So what do the folks in St. Lou have to say?
  10. I'd really enjoy having our 2 worst hitters hitting 1-2 It has Soriano and Soto at 6 and 8.
  11. I know there are already countless threads regarding Bradleys future, but this is the first Ive heard of actual talks going down, so I thought Id start yet another thread. Burrell could be Lous lefty RBI man, but along with Soriano, it could be one of the more sickeningly bad defensive outfields in recent memory, in fact it would rank up there with the Great Khali and Sloth from Goonies. Burrell is right handed Most of us know that, but does Hendry know that? I think I was confusing him with Jeremy Hermida for some reason.
  12. No mention of how the best hitter in baseball is playing like Aaron Miles?
  13. Anyone else hear Adam Wainwright blaming it on the towels? Boo hoo. Considering the towels were being waved behind him, I really dont see how it matters. http://www.stltoday.com/stltoday/sports/stories.nsf/cardinals/story/7814EBF67D15291B8625764A000A41DA?OpenDocument
  14. Id love Kubel, but I dont know much about him from a defensive standpoint, and I havnt heard anything about the Twins being interested in moving him. . D Young, much like Pat Burrell is another one of those former top prospects who hasnt quite lived up to the hype but has still been a more than serviceable player. He does have a bit of a temper. I dont know if the Twins would have any interest in Bradley, but it could at least be worth looking into.
  15. Watching Matt Holliday and Ryan Franklin blow Wainwrights gem and give the Dodgers a 2-0 lead in the series made my night.
  16. Im not gonna lie, I was bit confused for a moment when I turned this game on and heard Bob Brenley.
  17. Burrels not the best option for us, but probably is the best return for Bradley that we can hope for, especially considering the other interested teams. The Blue Jays would probably sucker Hendry into eating the rest of Vernon Wells contract and with the Padres, wed walk out with nothing.
  18. If Burrell comes of the bench, were essentially paying 7 mil+however much of Bradleys contract we eat for Cliff Floyd/Daryle Ward/Micah Hoffpauir
  19. I would prefer we try to move Bradley for something else and try to get Hawpe from the Rockies, who I guess isnt that better in the field.
  20. The only plus side I see to this is that maybe Jim really is trying to save up for that big RBI guy for Lou. Id be glad to waive good by to Harden, Gregg, Heilman, Grabow, and Reed if it meant that we coukld land Bay or Holliday. Of course Hendry would probably give them a deal that had them making 21 mil/year well into their late 40's.
  21. We just need to accept that Hendry knows what hes doing and he has a plan. The pre 2009 off season moves were all for the greater good.
  22. That lasted 3:54. I guess leaving a combined 30 runners on base will do that. I read that the 30 runners LOB is a playoff record. May as well have been The Cubs vs. The Cubs.
  23. I don't care if who the Dodgers have on their team; how the hell can you root for the Cardinals?!? um...they are NOT playing the cubs they are a quality team being my dad's favorite team probably helps as well None of this makes it remotely okay to be rooting for the Cardinals. I suppose there were a few black people who were rooting for the Confederacy in the Civil War. Different situation, I know, but the enemy is the enemy.
  24. But hes white and non confrontational.
  25. I think its because they play the Blue Jays there, so there country has to be represented as well.
