  1. Get your moneys worth Quade. eat his soul.
  2. Same thing here in Fort Wayne which is really, really weird. I can't remember the last time a Reds game bumped a Cubs game off FOX up here. Chicago teams generally get preference usually. :x Sign of the times.
  3. Is Castro going to have to be hitting .240 with a .270 OBP before Quade moves him out of the 3 hole?
  4. I guess you never really hate it when its your own guy, so I had no idea that Marmol was lumped in with Valverde and K Rod. One thing thats always bugged me is how its OK for closers to do their little happy dance, or pitchers in general to get pumped up when they get out if a jam, but anytime a hitter celebrates or admires a home run, the pitchers get their panties in a bunch.
  5. Good to see em spend some dough. Hope they continue doing it with the draft picks.
  6. Fukudome RF Barney 2B Castro SS ( stop batting him 3rd) Ram 3B Pena 1B Johnson CF Soriano LF soto C Garza P
  7. Yeah, this sucks, but Cards fans are obsessed with the Reds right now. The Cubs aren't exactly much of a threat to them. I still think that the Brewers are the team to beat in the division.
  8. Do we know as far as current players, what is Goldens ceiling? Any fair comparisons this early? When I have limited info, I go by the name, and Reggie Golden sounds like a speedy leadoff hitter, which I guess isn't the case. Then again, until recently, I thought that Freddie Freeman was black, so that system is quite flawed.
  9. Byrd will be wearing a protective face mask the rest of the year. FND was taking a page out of the Men in Blue playbook in you can only communicate through images.
  10. With the right combination of captioned photos, it just might be crazy enough to work.
  11. I thought that if there was a tie, the not so coveted BP Cup goes to the winner of the final game of the series. Not going to matter, because Phil Humber will continue his journey from top draft pick to obscurity to ace and the we Rodrigo Lopez pitches Sunday. Im really not confident that the Cubs can take either of these games, which is fine by me as that would give me the opportunity to check out on this season once and for all aside from the trade deadline.
  12. How much longer do we have to wait for Beliveau to be called up? He was born in '87 -- not exactly a young guy.. How much more grooming needs to be done? Hes a lefty, and we already have 3 in the pen. ones a stud, ones decent, and ones being paid a lot of money despite the fact that hes bad. Believeau, Rhoderick, and Dolis all look like they should be in the big league pen in 2012 along with Gooz, Carpenter, and of course Marshall and Marmol. Could be quite a pen.
  13. jung and francescon followed and were each terrible... peoria is down 15-4 in the 5th inning. When all is said and done, Simpson might end up a bigger waste of a 1st round pick than Mark Pawalek. Rhee, on the other hand tossed a 7 inning complete game shutout with 6 K 1 BB 2 H.
  14. True, but to be fair, he has had some terrible luck go his way too (Dunn, Peavy, Rios) Yeah, but Rios was great last year, and they knew what they were getting into with Peavy. He's still very good when healthy. Also, Aaron Poreda, who was the key to that deal has been horrible for the Padres minor league teams and cant throw strikes to save his life. The one deal that many think that the Sox will regret is trading Daniel Hudson for Edwin Jackson who was supposedly only aquired to flip to Washington for Dunn, which Williams denies. Rios had a .791 OPS last year and made $10.2 million. Not sure that is considered great production. The Sox aren't any "luckier" with prospects than any other MLB team With their own prospects, they're no luckier than we are. Maybe worse. It's other teams prospects they get lucky with.

  16. I said bad moves. Right, point being he's made good moves that have gone bad due to unforseen circumstances. (Dunn turning into Ozzie Timmons) True. Im not saying hes a good GM. I just dont get how they keep turning other teams failed prospects into gold. Danks and Floyd were both guys whose teams pretty much gave up on them. Bobby Jenks and Matt Thornton were both picked up from other teams for nothing. They both had some good years before sucking. Quentin was great in 2008, and now hes still decent. And now theres former 4th overall pick Phil Humber whose seemingly becoming an ace.
  17. At least we got that crap out of the way early.
  18. I wish we had a converted catcher on our pitching staff I know, we have 2. They both spent a few years in the minors after the conversion. Santos was a former top prospect for the Giants as a SS, gets scooped up by the White Sox for nothing having never pitched, pitches a year in the minors, and next thing you know hes one of the best relievers in the game. Williams has made some bad moves, but hes also made alot of lucky ones. Hell, nobody wanted Jermaine Dye or AJ Pierzynskie when the Sox signed them before 2005.
  19. What a [expletive] embarassment. Fire Quade like 3 months ago.
  20. And now we have to face the guy who converted from catcher to dominant reliever in like a week. How the [expletive] does Kenny Williams keep lucking into these [expletive] guys? (Quentin, Santos, Humber)
  21. no captions though. Quade does have one ghastly mug.
  22. Castro is 3-24 with 1 walk on this homestand, and I believe thats about the timeQuade moved him back to 3rd. And that was a pathetic at bat by Pena.
  23. As far as Im concerned, if these guys embarass us again, the Mike Quade era should end Sunday night. Regardless of what effect it would or wouldnt have on this team, if they decide to build a contender for 2012 and beyond, Quade has no business at the helm, and its time to start auditioning someone else. Even with the injuries, this team should not be the joke that it is.
