  1. Gonzalez 3-5 with a 2B and a 3B so far tonight. The kids definitely been on a roll this year. Going by his age and that so far he's steamrolled AA and currently AAA, he could be a top 10 prospect next year, easily top 20. he's quickly joining Flaherty and Lemahieu as guys I'd rather have over Barney next year. Anyone know what he's like on defense?
  2. Brett 2-3 with 2 HR and 2 BB, so that's quite encouraging.
  3. Man, it looks like the Fecal League Championship could be a reality this year. Our main competition is the Astros, and we have a lot of games against them. Our fate is in our hands.
  4. As I expected, we have Ortiz up, Coleman down, Mateo to DL, Carpenter up.
  5. He's been in AAA since mid-Aprilish. This is his debut with the major league squad. You can never have too many 40 year old junkballers.
  6. After blowing back to back 5 run leads late, Brewer fans should be nervous.
  7. Yeah. All those trades were examples of little talent received, and even less talent given up. I'd consider Hendry the winner cumulatively of those trades, but it's mostly been shuffling of spare parts. You really think Harden was "little talent" or "spare parts"?
  8. Marcus Hatley is taking his spot in Tennessee. But he's likely to pitch out of the pen. Not sure who will take Struck's rotation spot. Has the ship sailed on Ryan Searle as a starter? I actually got a tweet aying that Matt Loosen is going to AA and Del Valle to Peoria.
  9. Just out of curiosity, what is the case against Brenley as manager? I know that during the hunt for manager, alot of people were very against hiring him. Aside from the 2001 World Series, I never followed his managerial career, so I dont know what was to like or not like about the manager. Considering the lack of obvious options, aside from Bobby V, I dont see why we dont pluck Bob from the booth and tell him if it doesnt work out, hes welcome back up there.
  10. With Struck getting the promotion to Iowa, will anyone be taking his place in Tennessee? Rosscup might be a good option if hes off the DL.
  11. They will just bring up Ortiz for now. Theyll probably bring Carpenter for Mateo, because hes the best relief option, and the only way theyd be able to bring him back so soon is by DLing someone, so my guess is that they call up Carpenter for Mateo, and then Ortiz comes up for Coleman.
  12. what the hell do they have to do with it? They correlated the Buckner play in 86 with the Bartman play, using examples such as the scapegoat effect both had on their teams and how both events occurred in a Game 6. I understand why they did it (especially considering the producer is a Red Sox fan...lol), but it was a little over the top. I'd say a good 25% of the film consisted of the aftermath of the Buckner play. At the end of it, it was almost like the producer was bragging that the Red Sox were able to overcome their "Buckner curse" with two championships in four years. why don't they correlate buckner to Agon, which would actually make sense? Before Bill Buckner was the Red Sox Bill Buckner, Leon Durham was our Bill Buckner, but for some reason, people ignore that and blame goats, black cats, and other nonsense.
  13. This team never gets tired of finding fun new ways to lose.
  14. DeVoss seems like an OK enough player, but I hope they didn't spend too much on him that could be used for some of the late round big fish.
  15. Is Marshall hurt, or is this just a pointless pitching change?
  16. Wow. What a season for Struck. Is it safe to say that if not for injuries, it would have been McNutt?
  17. Matt Stairs is still playing professional baseball?
  18. Sucks that the Sox took the series, but the fact is, neither team outplayed the other. Aside from the game 1 in each series, the other 4 could have gone either way. We really should have taken game 2 of this series and the one with the rain delay. Even game 1 of this series could have been ours.
  19. Unless Freds doing play by play, I can't imagine this one reaching 2 pages.
  20. Sadly, too little to late to save us from Casey Coleman and Ramon Ortiz.
  21. He needs the playing time he won't get in the bigs, at least until Fuku and/or Reed are traded.
  22. Too bad Carpenter had to be the sacrificial lamb and they cant find it in their hearts to part with Grabow. Its not like hes going to rack up any trade value in the next month.
  23. Coleman will start tomorrow for Dempster who's having back and stomach problems. Grabow lives another day.
  24. I hate to be Debbie Downer, but I'm so happy the 3rd base coach waved Soto around 3rd.
