IMHO, it's only a matter of time before the White Sox leave town, anyway. This could be the start of the first time in recent memory that either Chicago team has been dominant for a significant stretch of time while the other is awful. And being as the Cell isn't like Wrigley/Wrigleyville, where people are drawn in for atmosphere alone, there's going to be more and more empty seats over there. The fact of the matter is that the 2005 Sox were an anomaly; a patched up group of players who managed to defy all baseball logic. But it was enough for Kenny Williams (who like Theo, is essentially GM despite a fancier title,) to earn the endless adoration and employment of Jerry, who's allowed him to spend the past decade thriving off those championship fumes and do pretty much whatever he wants, thus driving the franchise into the ground.
