  1. Another day without Matt Sczcur nor answers as to why he's been out. On the plus side, Matt Loosen has 5 K through 3 with 1 BB.
  2. And if McNutt would stop sucking, that would be nice too I wasn't aware that he'd started.
  3. He did go from this is the last straw and if he keeps making these kind of mistakes we're going to stop playing him to you don't bench a guy like Castro over plays like that rather quickly.
  4. Yeah, for 6/20, I'd take Hamels without thinking twice.
  5. That sucks. My last name is Wiseman and I'd LOVE for a Wiseman to play for the Cubs. I know nothing about him, but much like this post, Twitter says he's a "swing for the fences" pick and a tough sign. I want him.
  6. "Crazy" money in this case should be $20 to $30 million. I'd be stunned if any other team was offering more. It depends how many years we're talking. On one hand, there are the big money teams like the Yankees, Red Sox, and Phillies with aging rosters and diminishing farm systems and rarely a top 10 draft pick. On the other, there are the smaller market teams looking to rebuild. The might not stand a shot at competing for the big money free agents, but if we're talking 20-30 mil over 5-7 years, it's just 4-6 mil/year, which is not going to hurt even them. I'm all for doing what it takes to get him, but there's little doubt in my mind that other interested teams have the same mind set.
  7. If Sorianos knee was really that much of an issue right now, I doubt he'd still be playing regularly. It's not like we're in the heat of a pennant race here.
  8. And the guy who came into relieve him struck out 6 in 3 IP with 2 BB.
  9. Back2Hendry is of course hilariously wrong, but using Stewart's career #s doesn't show anything. Cubs are above average at RF, LF, 1B, SS, and 2B. So how the [expletive] has our offense been so bad?
  10. Ueck is the one thing I like about the Milwaukee Brewers. He's like the anti Hawk Harrelson.
  11. Speaking of J H Ha. 2-3 3B, 2 BB. Meanwhile, Jokisch is cruising.
  12. Obviously since Stewart is in the majors and Vitters is in the minors. Stewart is not a decent choice for a 3B on a contending team. He's okay as long as the Cubs suck, but he needs to be replaced when the Cubs become contenders. You need to stop saying nonsense like this if you want any of your points taken seriously. Even WSR is mocking you. More mocking Jon Morosi.
  13. Jay Jackson starting=bad Jay Jackson relieving so far=good Keep Jay Jackson in the pen before sticking a fork in him.
  14. I don't know what I Star Wars Christmas special is, but I can't decide if it's something I really want to see or something that those who conceptualized it should be executed. Eta as I posted that, the Cantina jam came on the loud speaker. Crazy.
  15. Anyone else notice that Jae Hoon Ha had quietly bumped his OPS to the .700s? Last I checked, he was in the low .600s.
  16. We wouldn't want him blocking prospects like Ryan Rowand Smith and Nate Robertson.
  17. It might look like Sveum came out to argue the call, but he actually ran out to scold Castro for his latest mental mistake and said hi to the ump on his way back to the dugout.
  18. And Milton Bradley 3 years ago. Similar anyway.
  19. Someone got a logical explanation for that? Douchyness?
  20. I'm sure that you'll find your share of Cubs fans who say the same thing, or at least that he should be moved to the outfield. Doesn't make it any less stupid, but the fact that this person is a White Sox fan is kind of irrelevant.
  21. I would say 99.7% of baseball fans are with you. The majority of baseball fans likely have no idea who 99.7% of these guys are. The same could be said for any draft class on draft day.
  22. It's a Milwaukee/Chicago thing as much as Brewers/Cubs. I went to school in Wisconsin for 5 years and spent many a summer there. The city of Milwaukee has a bizzare, one sided rivalry with Chicago. The little brother complex if you will.
