  1. I just don't know how he stuck with the organization as long as he did, considering all the fringe pitching prospects that have come and gone since he was drafted, seemingly, 20 some odd years ago. I'm pretty sure that he, Javy, and Willy are the only guys left from the Hendry era.
  2. May as well round up as many out of work 2016ers as we can. If we’re going to be watching lackluster at best ball, it may as well come with some sentimental value. Ben Zobrist for special assistant to the special assistant to the special assistant of special assistance!
  3. Dude sports a 3.1 Career WAR, 3.2 of that came from his magical 2019 season. That spells a whole lot of meh-bad.
  4. Don’t worry, it will all make sense when Davies puts together 3 ace-caliber months and we flip him for an epic haul.
  5. Here’s a not-so fun little stat- counting the 2018 division tie-breaker, this marks the Cubs 9th consecutive post-season game scoring 2 runs or fewer; 7 of which were fewer.
  6. This team made the most of their window of contention and will be forever in my heart. This being said, it’s time to move on and rebuild; and Yu and Kyle are probably our top chips. When HoyerStein first took over, they had a hell of a lot less to work with and managed to spin it into gold. What’s another 3 years in the grand scheme of things?
  7. If ever there were an athlete who embodied Milwaukee, it’s Dan Vogelbach.
  8. The way things are going, we might need his bat. =D> Agreed. Now if only we could figure out who to give it to.
  9. Ricketts has accomplished his goal (for which I am eternally grateful,) leaving HoyerStein to do as they wish, so long as it doesn’t involve money.
  10. I’m still holding out hope that he’ll come trotting on to field on the 1st day of ST.
  11. It’s all part of the master plan.
  12. Vance Vizcaino? David Masters? Jerrick Suiter? Who the horsefeathers are these guys? Did the I Cubs put up a help wanted sign at a Country Kitchen? And Corey Black? Hasn’t he been out of baseball for like 5 years?
  13. Obligatory ‘boy, the Yankees sure are stacked.’
  14. We need to scoop up Gausman, if for no reason than if we fail to do so, he’s destined to become a 12 time CY Young winner with the Cardinals.
  15. I’m sure he’ll land on his feet someplace where character (or lack there of) isn’t an issue. Are the Astros in the market for a middle infielder?
  16. How about sending him to Boston for Jackie Jr.? Both are provide above average defense at a quality position, both are capable of above average offense.
  17. I was bored and ultimately wound up at Lester Strode’s Wikipedia page. This was the final sentence: Can anyone else spot what’s wrong with this sentence?
  18. I’d be lying if I said that Hader’s meltdown wasn't the most satisfying moment of the season.
  19. A brain-horsefeathers to follow up on an earlier brain-fart of mine: The NL Central as Characters from The Office: Cardinals: Michael Scott. Despite less than conventional methods, they often leave the rest of us wondering did they do that on purpose or was it just dumb luck? Cubs: Ryan Howard. Likeable loser who quickly rises to the top only to come crashing down. Brewers: Dwight Schrute. Capable of great things in small doses, but desperation to rise to the top makes them their own worst enemy. Pirates: Andy Bernard. Bless their heart for trying. Reds: Stanley Hudson. Off in the corner, waiting for it to all be over.
  20. Is it me or has the story arc of the Epstein-Era Cubs been that of Ryan from The Office?
  21. Wow, just learned that Yelich’s out for the season. A team with a -27 run differential shouldn’t even be above .500, let alone in contention. Take away 7.1 WAR player, and they’re pretty much sunk. I guess that essentially takes on one contender in our quest for an extra game.
  22. Zobrist isn’t in the I Cubs lineup today, and while he’s still on their roster, he’s not listed as on the bench per the box score. Could he be on his way up soon?
