    When was that and what exactly happened? I don't remember... it was a game at wrigley either in '05 or '06. prior was pitching for the cubs. somebody hit one down the right field line, lee approached 2nd base and was heading towards 3rd. uribe's at 2nd with his hands in the air. lee slow down and looks to right field where the ball was. he realizes its fair and only gets to 3rd, but he could've/should've scored if he had kept running.

    it's definitely a bush move on Rodriguez' part. no, its not against the rules, but there are plenty of things not against the rules that you shouldn't due. juan uribe deked derrek lee a few years ago into thinking there was a foul ball when it was actually fair. in my opinion, its a similar situation.

    lee's not even leading the league in doubles anymore. magglio ordonez is, he has 24 to lee's 19. its interesting to see how dominant ordonez has been this year. .358/.434/.699/1.132 not bad for someone with A.C. Slater's hairstyle.

    this is the same guy who said the cubs would win 120 games a few years ago. i'm not trusting his knowledge of numbers.

    and in what is becoming typical lou style, he wasn't even used in the right way. he brought ohman in to face a lefty, but they pinched him jeff kent for him.

    I can't wait. As a Liverpool fan, I'm already excited/nervous. After what happened a couple years ago, I'm not terribly optimistic for this one. PS I can't believe the commercials for the game pump up Liverpool's two weapons, Gerrard...and Crouch. I like Crouch, but wow. yeah, i had a chuckle when i saw that commercial too. i'm guessing espn picked him because he was talked up quite a bit during last summer's world cup and he's more familiar to an american audience than kuyt or mascherano, or whomever else they'd pick.

    Chelsea's central defenders are pretty poor. This was a very blah game. Man U were gassed, and both teams had been shellacked so hard by injuries that it's not hard to believe it took extra time to decide it. Chelsea might need some depth there, but I wouldn't say Terry and Carvalho are poor. Far from it. I'd agree. Terry is solid, Carvalho has really come on this season and looked real strong (when healthy). Right back is the glaring weakness of Chelsea's defense. Geremi is not good and moving a player the class of Michael Essien out of the midfield to right back should only be done when there are no other options. Clearly, Chelsea has the finances to make sure there are other options. It looks like Arjen Robben is already being moved to Bayern Munchen. Owen Hargreaves is moving to Manchester United, to play and live in England for the first time in his life, even though he plays for England's senior squad.

I didn't shell out the money for the ppv, but the commentary i was reading said it was sluggish and not a good match. the early stories in the english papers echo that.

    Chelsea 1 Man U 0 Drogba scored in the 115th. Suprising that a double winning season can be considered disappointing. I'm expecting a major overhaul of the roster and hopefully another defender to add some depth.

    FA Cup Final-1st one at the new Wembly. Manchester United 0 Chelsea 0 Halftime. I was tempted to fork over the 25 for the PPV match but better judgement took over and I'm watching it on gamecast.

    Beasley and Gooch are both being returned from their loan spells in the Premier League. Beasley from Man City and Gooch from Newcastle.
