    relegation is one of the best things about soccer. i really wish american sports used it. i'm gonna be curious to see if sheffield united files a lawsuit against the premier league and west ham for the lack of point deductions for the hijinks of the tevez signings in august.

    they demoted him because he doesn't hustle and hurts team chemistry.

    the gm is the most important person in an organization. the cubs have been very bad the past 2 years and the third worst team in all of the major leagues last year, and has had more money to work with than the majority of other teams in mlb. hendry has the biggest impact on the outcome of the season and the win-loss results have been bad. he's to blame.

    at the risk of sounding stalkerish...i remember a few years ago that bruce said the regular beat writers for the papers get home weekend series off.

    chelsea 1 arsenal 1 manchester united clinched the title with an 8 point lead with 2 games to go. i was really looking forward to the chelsa-man u match this wednesday, but now its completely worthless. hopefully the blues can still bring home the first fa cup at the new wembly. i'm prediciting big changes for chelsea this summer. first, mourhino will be fired and some serious turnover of the roster.

    chelsea is down 1-0 to arsenal at the beginning of the second half. they are also down to 10 men. joy.

    Probably not what you're looking for, but "How Soccer Explains the World" by Franklin Foer is a pretty good read. Relates political/social situations in different places and how they are manifested in soccer in those places. Bingo. That's what it was. I had that title in my mind but I couldn't remember for sure. Thanks. I have it. it's great. me too. its really a good read.

    i'm not familar with the story but i just read up a little on it. very sad. football has had so many disasters. munich '58, hillsborough, heysel, countless stampedes in africa and south america.

    I haven't seen the match yet (downloading it now) but I saw highlights of the goals and I have to ask, where on earth was the Chelsea defense on the second goal? Two guys wide open on the far post? Horrible marking. horrible marking is right. if davies didn't head it in, the guys standing right behind would have. chelsea's defense has been shaky this year. thatn god petr cech has recovered from his head injury the past 3 months. they have no one to blame but themselves.

    terrible, disappointing performance by chelsea today. as the game progressed, it looked like the title was in reach. all of that changed within in a half an hour. now the title is extremely unlikely and chelsea has no one to blame but themselves. hopefully the fa cup and champions league are their goals now.

    We are in last place. Shhhh :-& Ahhh...He meant Pitt. Oh. Haha :oops: When someone says "We're" I assume he means the Cubs. Didn't know we had Pitt fans on this site. There are Pitt fans, Card fans, we've had Astro fans, Boston fans (though that guy hasn't posted in a while), and I think we have a certain section Adam Dunn fans that may qualify as dual Cub/Reds fans....heh. I think the Red Sox fan was a woman. I don't know what happened to the other Astros fans(I think there were like 3 or 4), but I'd be shocked to see Jimy is a misspell around here ever again. unless the astros make a late run at a post season birth.

    Chelsea 1 Liverpool 0 Very happy with the result. Chelsea dominated the first half and held Liverpool just enough in the second half.

    two away goals for milan is huge but the rooney goal in the 90th is a huge blow. if it would be 2-2 back to italy, milan would be in the drivers seat. now? we'll see but next week should be good. c'mon chels.

    very disappointing result today. chelsea had a huge opportunity to make a statement and they pissed down their leg. hopefully they're focused on liverpool in tuesday's uefa matchup.
