  1. Bushrod might last next year. Nobody else but long should be here in 2016. It's a mess.
  2. The o line is not a mess? One good player and 4 others that have to be replaced. It sucks.
  3. It's not only not perfect it is completely wrong. 3 years isn't half a semester. Best case outcome of your example is ending the semester with a c+ anyway.
  4. This is kind of my view. He gets a D or F from me right now but I still see a glimmer of hope because individual things haven't been bad across the board. I wouldn't be heartbroken if he was canned too, but I fear the alternative for sure. I don't buy into the whole "tries to be smarter thing". Any GM is going to go against the consensus at some time. I wouldn't trust the job to crowd sourcing. Just because someone takes a risk doesn't mean they were out to prove something, just that their efforts led down a different road. So while you have to question how they reached their decision to me it just comes across as lazy fans moaning to assume it was reached because Emery or anyone goes against the grain just for the sake of going against the grain. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk This is the same very weak argument used to support hendry as gm. Individual good moves are meaningless. Emery is in over his head. He's a division 2 strength and conditioning coach in ill fitted executive clothing. Hendry did end up putting together some good teams though... The strength coach thing is so irrelevant and on par with the hipster GM meme. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk i think you are in denial of reality. Emery's outsider status with no connections to quality nfl people contributed to his horrible hiring. 3 years later and there is no indication anything has improved. If he is fired tomorrow he will never get a high profile gig again. He will ride off into the sunset as a scout. The Bears were the only team that would hire him and trestman and there is no reason to think that has since changed. Why should the Bears be the only team to keep employing him? He's been a disaster. This team is just an older less functional version of the one he inherited. O line is a mess. Offense is disappointing. Defense and special teams are both horrible. The entire coaching staff is awful.
  5. I think old plan with a tux works perfectly. He was acting poor by choice, but still had his tux from before the purchase of the team and he would wear it to board meetings to discuss the plan with management.

  7. Kromer cried? No wonder jay shook his head. Kroner was the one guy I thought was a legit nfl coach. This staff blows.
  8. You better let the Ricketts family know before it's too late.
  9. Bryce Harper is not a "2015 or bust" player you prospect-slurping goon. Trading away all of our top prospects for anybody, which is what it would take for Harper, would be an incredibly short-sighted and stupid move. As would trading any of our top 4 for a rental in Upton. If Bryce Harper was still in the minors, he'd be OPSing 1.200 as CFer in AAA and they'd retire the No. 1 overall prospect spot so that all future prospect lists had to start at No. 2. *Not* trading multiple top prospects for Bryce Freaking Harper is short-sighted. He's *younger* than several of those prospects you're scared to trade. I stand with this guy
  10. If Maui has hookers they better plan on working overtime tonight, because I'm going to need somebody to drag me back to the hotel now that I've used up all my excuses for looking at my phone while at dinner.
  11. I don't think montero has anything to do with it. They either sign an ace or they don't. Did you miss the angst over the White Sox "winning" the offseason the other day? Yes, but I assume that was about acquiring an ace for very little cost.
  12. Boxcar Tom is hilarious. Especially his adventures with pies on windowsills. Damn right. Poverty is no laughing matter.

  14. Andrew Yuck
  15. I think DE is a more important need than just "depth" with questions on how good Houston will be when he returns and Allen is aging and middling (has he had a good game against a starter this year besides Matt Kalil who clearly shouldn't be starting?). Post flu he's been a factor at least. Probably more than any defender, not that it's says much.
  16. http://www.tampabay.com/blogs/rays/passed-over-in-manager-race-dave-martinez-will-leave-rays/2207867
  17. why would the rays be obligated to pay him this season? he quit his job He is moving forward and considering other opportunities. This is what happens when an under contract internal candidate does not get the head job. This happens in sports all the time.
  18. That would be interesting because I assume he was here on the recommendations of Kromer, who would presumably have a big say in the depth chart. And the staff did not seem to warm all that much to a guy many thought was the better option.

  20. He's under contract and going to be paid by Tampa next year. I think the permission would be a formality and the use of "resign" isn't technically correct.
