Is Gordon really that key to them? He seems more like a nice guy to have around to a disinterested observer. Though it is meaningful that anyone who could walk didn't. 4 year $72 million seems to be more than just a nice guy to have around.

And if you don't make penalties extreme you won't get rid of it in the next generation either. Blame the previous couple generations of no calls at all if you want to blame anybody.

It is fast and yet it is easy to choose to avoid targeting. Guys never played that way because it looks cool and gets you in highlights to blow people up. So they play reckless and don't care until ejections are made.

you have to legislate that stuff out of the game and the only way is to make penalties extreme. It is very easy to avoid that as a player but guys choose to play a certain way thanks to 90s era ESPN highlights.

I'm having trouble thinking of anything that comes closer to the description of "impractical suggestion that would be a nonstarter for owners" than "hey guys, do you want to put half your teams in an inferior league with a chance to move up" and "Hey guys, do you want to eliminate the unbalanced schedule that drives your attendance?" it is incredibly bad and doesn't offer any improvement. -
