  1. I want him back. Zobrist pales in comparison
  2. Where is that? Cape May? We have a place in Wildwood Crest. cape may national. They've asked about him a couple times while he was in the minors, because I wear a cubs hat.
  3. some of it tastes better but vodka is [expletive] vodka You could put me in a double-blind test with top shelf vodka and Skol, and I would be able to tell them apart 100% of the time. I will bet you ANY amount of money. I'm not saying you can't tell the difference, I'm saying it's horsefeathering vodka. http://cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/1026/9277/files/clear-alcohol.gif?3616049427134374997

  5. I play at his hometown golf course a few times a year and am looking forward to chatting up the old men working the course about the 20 homeruns he'll have by June (not to mention the 50 wins the Cubs will have).
  6. I mean, cheap domestics will mess me up more because I might drink a 30 pack of coors light on a Saturday. While I'm not chugging much more than a dozen of some tasty stout. Similarly, a bottle of don julio 1942 will last me a couple months but some cheap ass booze will only be purchased for quick intake of large quantities. It's not the quality of the booze that determines how much is messes you up. It's the willingness/ability to drink it irresponsibly and aggressively.
  7. the beer before liquor axiom is definitely an issue for me. But that's usually because it means I drink 8-15 beers in some sort of pregame scenario, some whiskey, then wine at dinner and some jackass forces shots on me later.
  8. I will be the first to tell you that there is not always a direct correlation between price and quality. There is plenty of [expletive] marketing and placebo effect involved. For example, I used to drink Grey Goose. Then I realized that Tito's was much better, and only a fraction of the price. So, now I drink Tito's. But, you can't sit here and tell me that you feel exactly the same if you drink Grey Goose or if you drink an $8 bottle. I certainly don't. You didn't realize Tito's was much better, you convinced yourself it was much better. Either way it's horsefeathering vodka.

  10. but cheap tequila is the devil
  11. I didn't like the "its just one win and we were partying like it was a playoff series win" He was great at the Convention though. Kind of a jerk to Lester, I mean really slamming him, but you got the vibe that they have the kind of relationship that could support it. I'm trying really hard to like him. A solid performance tonight would go a long way. They do kinda party like it's a playoff win after every win (minus the champagne) and it's pretty unusual. He said it was sick right after that. Yeah, he's right. It is weird. But he also seems cool with it, which is the correct way to view it.

  13. Did they get rid of the Hawk call on that? they may have switched to home team feed [tweet] [/tweet]
  14. This is gonna an Edmonds situation for me. The toughest thing is that Lackey just has the most punchable face that I've ever seen. He could be pitching a perfect game in the World Series and while I might love him at that point, I'd still really want to punch him in the face. It's almost like an involuntary reflex. Combine that with his questionable personal life and he's got a bit of an uphill battle to climb although I'm obligated to like him as a Cub. You have anger issues and should seek treatment. I think he looks lovely.
  15. Right on both accounts. Asking a place like Wrigley to have some 10% ABV imperial stout or double IPA available is kind of silly. 312 pale and wheat are both perfectly acceptable for a baseball game. And I'm the snobbiest of beer snobs. Wtf are you talking about? Wheat beer? At a baseball game? Pilsner, lager I went from really liking wheat beer to really disliking it in a hurry. Definitely wouldn't want to be pounding those at a game.
  16. That is correct. I mean, if that wasn't the case, what would be the point of paying extra money for better booze? Do you think it's just a matter of taste? There is a reason for the price difference. The difference is in the way it is produced. Point taken. Like I said, I totally understand where you are coming from. It is certainly possible to get drunk off of cheap domestic beer, don't get me wrong. It happens every day. It just requires putting more liquid into your system and urinating more. The worst person to judge whether they are slurring their words is the person drinking the booze.
  17. look at this guy who can't get drunk on beer or top shelf liquor.
  18. Why do you all want to honor Jon Herrera so badly anyway?
  19. Same players plus a qb? Any other nominations?
  20. Atlanta takes Darron Lee, OLB, Ohio State
  21. old white guys need validation
