  1. I hope Vogelbach never plays a game for the Cubs.
  2. [tweet] [/tweet]
  3. Turns out he was discussing a concussion Ross suffered three years ago..., 4 runs scored during the story.
  4. [tweet] [/tweet]
  5. I could see a Montero DL stint. To me, that'd make MORE sense. Not enough playing time for the 3 of WC, Montero, and Ross. Exactly. I don't get calling him up if it's just to be one of the three main guys. 3 catchers is no fun.
  6. That is the most obvious, unless Montero goes to DL.

  8. What possible "news" could he be hearing other than the players and coaches liking what they are doing right now? That's nice, but it's not news, or informative. [tweet] [/tweet]
  9. everything after the tanning salon
  10. good thing they are incredibly deep at the position...
  11. ..., lest ye be judged
  12. the horribly selfish and terrible and awful part?
  13. at best: http://i.imgur.com/PxIb7HS.jpg Awesome, you even flipped the picture. pitcher
  14. yes, that was the gist
  15. Fine, but you aren't talking about fame here. The question was about how famous they were. Not culturally meaningful.
  16. that brings up the massive difference in the sports themselves. Boxing was huge at the time and Ali was the biggest name, but how many of his fights were truly global events? Maybe a half a dozen? Jordan had exponentially more games, and even if you just count things like series clinching games, his comeback, finals games, dunk contests and olympics, he was out there for world wide consumption far more often. I think Jordan competes simply on the globally famous question. He may not be as popular or beloved or respected, but those are different questions. But the dude is quite famous.
  17. Not even close. Pele is the only athlete I can think of who might have compared to Ali at the top of his fame. Pretty much. Jordan was arguably famous around the world more for a logo/brand than anything else; to a good chunk of the globe he might as well have been, I dunno, Calvin Klein, basically. Ali was famous and known everywhere just for being Ali. I'm not sure how or why you make the distinction for how either was known.
  18. I end up having to send something to my kids school, doctor or camp a couple times a year. It's the only time I fax. It cracked me up how until I left my old job at the end of 2014 we were still getting Nigerian prince-style scam faxes. that and offers for cruises is all we get
  19. no. he's not a treasured sports legend. just stop Who isn't a treasured sports legend, Ali or Howe? Because you misread my post (or I just worded it badly) if you think I was saying Kimbo Slice is a treasured sports legend. How could that possibly be interpreted any other way than you believe another sports legend must die if I don't think Kimbo qualifies as a legend?
  20. I end up having to send something to my kids school, doctor or camp a couple times a year. It's the only time I fax.
