Well the Vikings looked awful yesterday although they're still 5 point favorites against the Bears. Minnesota has a great defense but it would be interesting to see if Cutler can do anything against them, because the Bears should be able to keep the score within reach. -
I don't like "saving" Lester for the theoretically easier matchup. Lester's pitch counts were low early in the playoffs and 108 last game wasn't too much, and he's on normal rest.

I don't think that at all. Like I said, i hope Baez continues to Baez, but to my eye Rizzo didn't look too happy (especially not the one in Game 5) ntil it ended an an out. Wasn't Baez the one who mirrored a Russell throw from SS too last year? I'm sure Rizzo appreciattes Javy, but its not really the time to get cute , hence he can laugh when the out is made. You are confusing lovable Latin players

Security concerns would be part of it. Doubt they want thousands of people standing in the streets outside the ballpark loitering in one spot. The games at Wrigley are on the weekend, so a lot of folks are going to be at the bars drinking (which presumably have expanded some since 2003). Wrigley also has a couple thousand more seats/thousand. Can't drink in the street. I think there's also probably a few less diehard national fans wanting to travel in just to stand near the park since there's no WGN America games anymore (and that network has greatly declined in popularity since the 90s). wait, what does wgn have to do with number of fans stupidly standing on the street for a playoff game?

Do balls just not get to the streets as often thanks to bleacher expansion? the expansion and the boards i think have really cooled that. but, again, those people were seemingly there just to be there. the Cubs being in the postseason used to be unique enough to justify just being there on the street. It's happened enough now that those weirdos figured out how unenjoyable that must be.

So is John Fox in danger of getting canned midseason? The Bears are early 5.5 point underdogs to the division leading Vikings, who face a bit of a test at Philadelphia this week. Everything has been going great for them despite the injuries, but at some point the Sam Bradford plan has to hit a hiccup. Cutler has to be back under center in this game, which will have no world series game overshadowing it, barring rain outs. I could see the Bears pulling off the stupid upset, going on a mini roll to remove the chance for Fox to be fired midseason and falling in the draft order. But it's still going to be a very tall order to get to 6 wins at this point.

It's basically between the dugouts at the back of terrace reserved. You are going to have a huge overhang blocking the sky but depending on pole positioning you should have a solid view of the entire field. Get there early though and lock in a spot, I can't stress that enough. Also unless you are standing next to someone who is cool, be prepared to not leave the spot because people will quickly jump in and take it. If that happens, you still have access to anywhere in the park (besides the bleachers), if you don't mind being on the move, the last time I had SRO, I spent probably 3-4 innings just walking back and forth between the lower and upper concourse watching the game as I walked back and forth. Ok. Haven't bought anything yet. My plan was to go to a bar outside of Wrigley and check the online sites after the game had started in the hopes that prices would drop a bit. Not really counting on it but in case I do pull the trigger, I wanted to know where I'd be standing. I don't really mind walking around and I'm 6-8 so I don't have to worry about other people blocking my view. don't the online sites shutdown after the game starts?

Tim mentioned that the site was performing poorly and the archives played a part in that so I think he shut it down last week.

Dude I don't know, maybe I'm just lame but I need a day off to savor the last 2 wins and prepare for tomorrow. My stomach has not allowed me to eat or digest food properly since the last off day. Need to recoup. Plus a Saturday game is much more enjoyable than Friday. I can get there early and soak up the scene before finding a bar to watch the game. I just need the day off for some sleep. Would like to be in bed by 10 tonight.
