  1. No and no. I would go with None, No and no
  2. And no, in the grand scheme of things I do not care about adding "new jobs and opportunities" for the players. Those would be taxpayer subsidized jobs that provide no net benefit to the country or local community. And they'd benefit only a very select few. It would mean a couple more fringe guys get to earn the league minimum for a couple more years. Expansion means an upfront fee paid to current owners, and not much else. Maybe expansion can happen one day, but Oakland Tampa and Miami problems should be a higher priority.
  3. Expansion is always a good thing do I think they should always expand no.
  4. This is an easy interception It's not an easy one, but reasonable for a qb to see it as a risk.
  5. I've got just the spot picked out along the hudson river, surrounded by train/ferry/light rail/bus/car options. Just need ~$1.5B in seed money to begin.
  6. Whether they fit geographically is not the hurdle that matters most. The hurdle is whether they have 32 viable markets, at all. There are 3 markets barely holding on in the current situation. Pittsburgh, which was barely viable late in the Three Rivers Stadium era, before rebounding with a perfect ballpark and then a decent run of success, are starting to show cracks again. Talk of expansion is most likely just another way to try exploiting current team local governments into building new stadiums.
  7. I think Montreal is far more viable than Portland. But we're still operating with 2 teams in Florida that have no local support, despite championships and recent successes. Oakland is also still a complete mess.
  8. Hey sparky why don't you leave this stupid conversation for a bit and start the next game thread.
  9. Expansion always being a net positive in any sport is just patently untrue. MLB is still dealing with painfully weak FL franchises from the last round of expansion that desperately need to steal taxpayers money to stay viable. And others sports have their own ugly stepchildren.
  10. Painful to listen to cowherds voice and that same 2 play loop over and over and over. Shame on you for linking.
  11. This maintains the one game play-in wild card situation, so I'll allow it.
  12. Develop the young guys. Gentry and McBride having something resembling a Cam Meredith is our slim hope of a good passing attack next year. I have doubts that Fox is basing playing time on who needs more developmental time.
  13. it says right in this rough draft "until... your body ends up completely past the base". Crazy out of control slides will result in outs. there will be just as many times where a guy slides to the bag, taps it with his finger, but keeps a foot in line or spins around so his hand is even with the bag as there are times where a foot pops up for a split second while a tag is on. It's not a fix. If dudes starting making crazy spin around slides, that would be cool.

  15. What? No, they don’t have to sweep the three home games to win. No technically they only have to win 2/3 at Wrigley but I don't see how they could win both game 6 and 7 on the road in LA. I know they did so in Cleveland last year but I think this Dodger team is better than that Cleveland team. You don't see how they could win 2 games in a row in LA? Really? You don't see how that could happen? I don't believe you. I think you do see how that could happen. I think we all see how that could happen.
  16. Sign one starter and two relievers, then take a nap.
  17. Off the top of my head, "once you touch the base, you're safe until you start towards the next base or your body ends up completely past the base" seems like it covers pretty much everything to me. that's insanely too much leeway Leeway for what though? If you literally slide past the bag, you are going to be out. If you somehow pop up and detach for a millisecond, you won't be. The point is to reach base before the defender tags you.
  18. Off the top of my head, "once you touch the base, you're safe until you start towards the next base or your body ends up completely past the base" seems like it covers pretty much everything to me. would like to see the term "football move" used in there somewhere
  19. I kind of feel an elite running game puts the game away with a lead in the 4th quarter.
  20. I was already a non-believer because of the whole one year starter thing, but just from a distance it seems like he sucks. I hated the trade up. I've had doubts but this is wierd. He's been as good as we could hope with talent around him.
