    There's zero chance I watch a clip of what happen to the Bears guy, but was it a similar freak thing? he landed on it awkwardly while making a catch. looked very bad but i didn't think it looked any more gruesome than your standard football knee ligament tear. horsefeathering robots don't care about human bodies doing what they are not meant to do. It was awkward and ugly and gross and had to be reviewed a million times because of the overturned touchdown. I didn't watch a single one of them, but imagine being the replay review guy that had to see it over and over.

    it always has been this way. What's the point of the unofficial moratorium anyway? Fans of the teams that need a new manager are going to be talking about who their next manager is anyway. In some respects, actually naming the new manager probably is less of a distraction than people left guessing. The moratorium probably made more sense before the internet. it's definitely something from a bygone era, and the point is to try and get all writers to push the population's focus toward WS games.

    i'm really liking Payton right now to replace Fox. He's winning the division this year in a season when he wasn't going to contend. The bears have no chance.

    Mitch is not good at finding the rare open receiver. This coaching staff and roster is probably going to waste whatever NFL skill he may have.

    If the Cubs find a way to trade Heyward it'll take some sort of money eating. But what kind of team could actually want him? I'm thinking you'd need a team getting next to nothing out of RF already, and in need of defensive help. A team with a ballpark that might need extra help from a strong RF could also help, and the Rockies are the first name that come to mind.
