  1. ...doesn't work. The people opposed don't want the protests to be tailored to make them feel more comfortable or welcome. They just want the protests to go away. There are a LOT of people like this. Some people will always find an excuse to complain about the protest mechanism because they don't want to confront these truths, or are racist, stupid, etc. However, I think that there are also people who are unwilling to listen that otherwise would be listening if this didn't involve the anthem. They're completely turned off to it. And that's why a lot of the national conversation is around those people being offended and the anthem, not the subject of police brutality, which I think is a miss. But this conversation is actually happening because these neanderthals keep struggling to hide their bigotry behind faux patriotism. the protest is working, it is drawing attention to the problem and making shitty people uncomfortable.
  2. PEOPLE THIS THREAD IS ABOUT THE JERRY JONES AND ROGER GOODELL STANDOFF, NOT THE RELATIVELY SHITTINESS OF YOUR FAVORITE CHAIN PIZZA PLACE.
  3. the pizza man is the commish is the star
  4. They have one motivation here, cost control. There is no real threat to major league baseball on a global basis. They aren't contending with other leagues for baseball talent. They have had healthy growth for years, and aren't in any sort of near-term risk to losing money because Japanese guys come over at 25 years old.
  5. he was strictly a pass catching threat, but his college competition was so over matched it was hard to know if it could translate.
  6. Amazing coach speak here:
  7. my concern on that matter is more that a new HC may want his own guy.
  8. i always wonder what goes through the mind of somebody "liking" a tweet like that.
  9. There is no baby. If you choose to take offense to peaceful protest you suck.
  10. You don't need to counter "just pay off the cops" with anything other than pointing out how stupid the idea is.
  11. It is very clear and obvious what the players are protesting. Those people choosing to act as though it is not clear what the protest is about, are making up excuses to justify not supporting the players, because they know the players are right, or they are just willfully ignorant. I had this very same conversation with somebody this past summer. He kept hammering on the idea of "what does he (kap) even want", and I kept answering. He'd hem and haw about the mixed message but would also eventually come around to realize he knew exactly what kap wanted. It was as if I had to keep reminding him he was on the verge of saying some incredibly stupid racist [expletive] before he'd back off that line. And then start right back up. It's tiresome.
  12. that's an incredibly stupid idea. pay the cops to protest them killing people unbelievable it's not a lack of sensitivity that is causing cops to support cops who kill people for no good reason
  13. Good Those people suck. If you feel disrespected by people protesting police brutality you are an awful person. Taking a knee is not controversial. If you are choosing to interpret it as so it is because you are a bad person with bad priorities.
  14. the know, and they don't care.
  15. [tweet] [/tweet]
  16. I looked at both guys Twitters. Any recap on this? Not seeing anything. theriot kept quote tweeting him rather than replying, so it's harder to read it properly.
  17. That sucks. This league has a lot of young quarterback talent but so many of them are injured and/or blackballed from the league.
  18. The Star is a 91-Acre Campus that Hosts the DALLAS COWBOYS WORLD HEADQUARTERS So do grown ups have parties there?
