  2. Just realized KC gate is next to mine. Mrs Zobrist is on that flight.
  3. It's an incredible union gig if you can get it. I assume she has to work one day a month to keep the benefits or something. Yeah, I'm assuming it's for benefits/pension. pilots that transition into instructing have to fly once a month to stay current, could be similar situation
  4. Vince Vaughn on the lake and now Mrs. Zobrist at O'Hare. #blessed
  5. Leaving tonight. I looked into planning a KC trip this time but couldn't make it work.
  6. Im assuming they let her know more than 24 hours in advance when that particular day will be? And im also assuming major league baseball players have support staff and secretary's that would be able to assist in finding them a reliable baby sitter? he's a journeyman relief pitcher, not alex rodriguez. the cubs may have support staff on their end to help new players and their families get acclimated to the city but i doubt they assist with finding a babysitter. i don't have kids myself but i don't think i'd be cool just handing my kid over to a random person for a day or two a week on a "recommendation" from a friend or company. i'm sure there's vetting that goes on with the family of the child, which takes time. I have kids and I'd let clark watch them if it gave me 15 minutes of peace.
  7. I'd like to change my vote

  9. This is the 10th consecutive game the Cubs have batted a non-pitcher 9th.
  10. Or, considering he’s been hitting well there, they could just keep him in that spot. Unless there's some kind of leadoff spot-exclusive sorcery involved in Rizzo not being terrible, it would probably behoove them to not having a guy who went .293 .394 .478 .873 last month not hitting right after the damn pitcher's spot more often than not. I didn't know LaStella was hitting that well.

  12. I will be in Chicago this weekend, will eat stereotypical foods and gain 9 pounds
  13. I once scoffed at this sentiment, but I'm right there with you. I'm excited for Sunday funday drinking/grilling and having friends over, because that is the best part of the fall. But the football itself is almost inconsequential. I long ago stopped paying attention to any primetime game not involving the Bears.
  14. Javy was +2000 to win last week
  15. That was Bryant and he already relapsed. There was a July 15 article claiming he hoped to do a minor league rehab starting in one week (which would have been a week ago). He did a sim game a week after that article, July 22 and was supposedly set to do another July 26. But 6 days later this article game out. https://www.nbcsports.com/chicago/cubs/cubs-no-hurry-get-drew-smyly-back-mound So he's not close. [tweet] [/tweet]
  16. I could see a lot of "hip" writers include him in their top 3/4 but there's no way he'll win.
