40 games over .500 is great in one season. It is not good over the course of 7 seasons. It is mediocre at best, and should be considered disappointing for a team that dominates in payroll. It's barely better than an 83 win season. That is bad. -
It doesn't matter what your opinion is, you are wrong. 08 was their only really good team. They didn't even win 90 in those other seasons. Oh, and that record is the equivalent of an 83 win season, which isn't good, and is barely over .500.

What sort of mistakes is he making? I really know nothing of basketball strategy, so I'm serious. As a casual observer it seems to me the Bulls put too much faith in a mediocre journeyman who had a couple nice months, and just aren't very talented.

No they have not. They are barely above .500 and are basically even with the lowly Florida Marlins during his time here. They qualified for the playoffs 3 times, but 2 of those were because of weak competition. He only built one actual really good team, and he destroyed that one.

I'm not sure why. NY likes feisty. They like good players. And they absolutely love guys who walk. If he starts 0-20 there could be trouble, but as long as he's halfway decent he'll just be one of several guys in a great lineup. If he gets thrown out arguing with an ump, they aren't going to be pissed at him, they are going to be with him. And as long as he can get Jeter on his side, he'd be gold. Unlike in Chicago this past year, Bradley will not be anywhere close to THE STORY of spring training. He won't have to be some savior. It seems to me than scrutiny is the bane of Bradley's existence. Any amount of it, really. You're not going to get through a full season as a starter in NY, especially on the Yankees, without being the focus of some degree of scrutiny. Sure, he'll get lost in the mix a bit, but if he comes under fire, it'll be really bad. Quite frankly, I think Milton just needs to go a laid back market. And to be fair, I think the implication that Bradley was regarded as a savior for the Cubs last year is gross overstatement. His acquisition was the feature story of the offseason and he absolutely was portrayed as a savorior by many who were convinced all the problems lied in their right handedness and lack of fire.

I can remember a couple that were not at all sun related. I think his gaffes are related to his being a moron.

Why? Because it's a stupid meaningless phrase. And there is no opinion involved in the Samardzija question, there was never a time when everybody was hyping him, and from what I've noticed at least half the opinion on him has always been negative. whatever d-bag. And when in the world did i say this board hyped him? Which is basically what you're implying. I said he was hyped, didnt say it was on this board did I. d-bag, sweet. At least that's a better line than "how he carries himself". You said everyone was hyping Samardzija. Everyone encompasses a lot of people, including everybody, on this board and away from this board.

Just that gut feeling. I had the same feeling when everyone was hyping samardijza, i felt he wasn't that good of a prospect and a reliever at best which i still feel. I felt that way about Hughes, Kennedy, Bucholz, etc. I think if you watch baseball, normally you can see someone and just know they'll be something good. Its just my own opinion, not saying its right. Before you applaud yourself too hard, there was never a time when everyone was hyping Samardzija. And your ability to judge a player based on how he carries himself is dubious at best.

In the sense that Samardzija will probably never be more than a reliever, there's some support for the comparision.

ok, now how many can you name who were making as much as sosa? a players trade value isn't determined on performance alone. in sosa's case, the main factor was his ridiculous salary. Salary is meaningless when the trading team is the one paying it.

Why would any idiot care about his hometown, his "voice", his diplomatic skills or any of that freaking nonsense. It's about baseball ability. Granderson has a nice amount, but he's not great.

That article says that she left their 1.2m California mansion. Um. 1.2m won't get you a California mansion. especially when you live in Florida It says she left the 1.2 million florida home and also says left their california mansion. But then again, the website is "newstrump" so my guess is it's some moron that can't write.

Reports are Braves will look to trade Soriano, he has to approve a trade before June 15. Knowing that Hendry is looking for a vet out of the bullpen Soriano could make sense, if they aren't asking a ton for him and it's more of a salary relief move. That June 15th rule applies to guys signed as free agents, not guys retained through arbitration. Corey Patterson was traded in the same offseason after accepting arbitration, for example. Soriano accepting arbitration is him being signed as a free agent. Right, there are two types of guys who go to arbitration. Arb eligible but non free agent eligible players, or eligible free agents. A free agent is a free agent. A non-free agent who is arb eligible and offered arbitration doesn't accept arbitration, it accepts him.

Maybe by random buffoons but they've been shot down by beat reporters. And I definitley don't remember any 24-72 hour claims a month ago. I remember "leads" by Wittenmeyer, Kaplan and the like saying things like "the Cubs are hopeful to get something done in the next 72 hours" or "we should see things moving in the next 24-48 hours". So yeah, buffoons is pretty accurate. I wasn't talking about actual releases from the Cubs. And yes, most have been shot down later that same day. I wasn't talking about releases from the Cubs either, obviously that would never happen. I'm just talking in general, I haven't really seen any "pending" stories this year, in comparison to most rumors.

Haven't we been seeing time-frames of 24-72 hours til the deal is done(talking in general) since the World Series? I don't think so. I feel like every report has more or less said nothing is on the horizon, a couple teams have expressed interest and Hendry is confident it will happen sometime.

Did a Packer get hurt last night? I saw an opening line with Chicago getting 3, but now it's off the board. I think Green Bay should be favored by 5-6 and I would bet they cover easily. The Bears outplayed them in week 1 and probably should have won, but Chicago has gone downhill so fast since then that it doesn't tell me anything. Lovie has a nice record vs GB, 7-4, and a win here might be enough for the organization to justify (to themselves at least) keeping Lovie another season. Minnesota might be resting regulars by the time they come to Chicago, giving them another chance to save Lovie's job. But I don't see the Bears winning this game.
