  1. Of course they belong, the issue was somebody foolishly claiming they would be the favorite in any series. I think it's debatable if they are elite. I guess it depends on how loosely you define elite. Detroit was clearly among the better playoff teams, so I guess you can call them that, along with a team like Pittsburgh.
  2. A simple tackle could also cause serious damage. The kid knowingly committed a crime and then attempted to flee, he made his bed. I don't see the point in trying to blame the cops for anything that happened.
  3. Probably because they aren't playing a good team. Plus, for some reason I feel like Philly always has a reputation for being better than their record would show.
  4. It's allowed all the time. no it isn't Okay, think that if you will, but it's true. Contact with the goalie happens all the time and is usually allowed. That's especially true when the puck is bouncing around in front of him and everybody is hacking at it.
  5. Because Johnsson is in Al Gore's lockbox. And, Buff is really inconsistent. If he can ever put it completely together, he's going to be a damn good player. That won't happen, but that contract will be tradeable.
  6. That's a really weird stance. Nobody's making you pay any attention to Bradley. You misunderstand. I'm projecting Bradley to other, real, situations I've experienced in my life. Yet you like cats?
  7. It was still stupid to say they'd have to be the favorite in every series.
  8. I'm sure Lou is thinking Koyie has only 1 start in 10 games and he needs to get him in.
  9. http://www.chicagobreakingsports.com/2010/05/new-offense-means-new-life-for-bears-davis.html Despite the title's suggestion that Davis should get new life under Martz, the story doesn't really promote the idea all that well. I often forget the guy is still on the team.
  10. Been there. Unnamed friend should probably stop going to bars with Ben, but I'm sure he's loving having his tab paid and picking up all the loose change that spills in their area. My friend was a moneyless dick and chick repellent so it was easy kicking him to the curb. If you believe some of the stories about him going out with other players, like Bettis and Ward, I think it's a little different from just them wanting the free night out.
  11. Isn't that what's happening now? Contrary to what he told you, that's not pus.
  12. If he's not careful that'll be leaking out of all sorts of parts of his body.
  13. He's probably a cat person.
  14. My favorite part of the idiotic stance about the taser thing. If they were selling beer for $1.00 and looking the other way on underage drinkers, he'd have a point. But selling a beer for $7.00 is actually a more responsible way to sell beer, as it lessens the likelihood of goons chugging a case and getting stupid. Sure, it's raping the customer's wallet, but it probably leads to more controlled stadiums than if they sold it for $2-3. Furthermore, everybody gets carded at stadiums. They make it relatively diffiult for a kid to get drunk, no, not impossible. But more difficult than when I was underage.
  15. It's a weird way of putting it, but basically any player who is not a rookie or second year player is considered a veteran. Strange. I don't see a need for McCown either, but I view Hanie and LeFevour the exact same way - two inexperienced guys whose talent level isn't great. Well you shouldn't view them the same. Hanie has been around the team for a long time, and that counts for something. LeFevour is a talented rookie who is going to have to overhaul his game while learning the pro level. They aren't similar.
  16. It's a weird way of putting it, but basically any player who is not a rookie or second year player is considered a veteran.
  17. I agree. Unless Martz thinks Hanie just flat out sucks, I see no value in going after a guy like McCown or any other veteran backup. This team is only going as far as Cutler can take them, I can't imagine them even matching last year's performance if they have to rely on a backup. So what's the point?
  18. I'm really glad I have this guy on ignore. I really can't recommend it enough.
  19. I'm not contributing to Leitch's hits.
  20. Yup. In almost every instance, someone running on the field is just drunk and looking for attention, but there have been enough instances of players and umps being attacked that it shouldn't be tolerated. It's really not hard to understand. If you don't want to get tasered at a baseball game, all you have to do is stay somewhere in the stands. Unless the cops want you to do anything but sit still in your seat.
