  1. It sounds less like recruiting and more like the bachelor with Wade giving people the opportunity to be considered to play with him.
  2. Why is it that every time they show him on camera before a game, he's communicating via whistling and gestures to somebody very far away?
  3. There's no chance of losing Seabrook for nothing. He's a $3.5 million cap hit this season and then an RFA next season. There's plenty of cap room to resign him next year, with $4.5 million in bonus cap hit off the books, plus I expect the cap to go up a solid amount the next few years as league revenues are on the uptick. There's plenty of room to sign him to a $5-6 million extension that he deserves. Oh, he'd still only be RFA, then yeah, not this offseason.
  4. I do not think you can realistically create divisions that takes Penn State away from all its nearest opponents, and puts them in with all of their furthest opponents. Why not? They fly to every opponent as it is. Having a top 3 of PSU/Nebraska/Iowa vs. a top 3 of OSU/Michigan/Wisconsin is as equal as you can find from a competitive balance standpoint. The rest of the league falls in line geographically and from a rivalry standpoint outside of Wisconsin. Well first off it might not only affect football. And secondly, it will affect fans a great deal. The conference game road trip is quite popular. If Penn State is only playing Iowa, Minnesota and Nebraska, nobody is going to be driving out there, and it's going to piss off a lot of people. They've be isolated. Also, Penn State is the bigger brand, but they aren't that much better of a program (and who knows what happens when Joe goes). If they were head and shoulders and torso above Wisconsin, I could see the point in considering it, but they really aren't.
  5. They probably should be, but no, they're different.
  6. I really like Bolland, and I think my two "favorites" to be dealt are Versteeg and Buff. I don't like Versteeg, and Buff's value is probably way over his worth to the team right now. It's one thing to shed some payroll, but if you can get some actual quality in return, that's huge for the future with no top draft picks coming anytime soon. The timing of the big three contracts this season could not have been better, as all of those guys would have gotten much more this offseason, post-Cup. Because of this, you have to at least entertain the possibility of dealing Seabrook. I don't want to, but if he's going to be impossible to resign, I'd rather deal him sooner and then keep the other parts you want to keep, than wait and potentially lose him for nothing.

  9. http://deadspin.com/5561311/patrick-kane-a-portrait-in-drunkenness Kane's dentist probably hates him.
  10. Russell really let his season stats balloon his past two outings, of course it took 11 days to get 2 appearances.
  11. I'd love to let him walk in that situation, but I don't see it happening. now quit crying about this crap in the good thread.
  12. That's skewed by the fact that the clock doesn't stop and neither does play. But there's not much going on for much of that action.
  13. I bought two shirts, a hat and a pint glass at the NHL store, and they put it in a damn Crosby bag.
  14. If it's incidental contact, it's not a foul. Like the "kicking the puck into the net" rule in the NHL. oh, the replay looked much more harmless than live action. Where on the arm does a handball start?
  15. I thought the Cubs were getting a guy who kept a tight clubhouse in Lou Piniella. He really has softened in the last couple years. I don't think he has the energy or will to keep a tight ship anymore. I just can't believe he let Ramirez bring a gun to the clubhouse. That has to be illegal. Zambrano killed a guy with a trident.
  16. aren't you not allowed to use your hands?
  17. wells really needs to be taken out of the rotation for a bit.
  18. Hill going to whine about his teammates fundamentals again?
  19. I'll answer that when I know if Hendry is still imployed.
  20. Theriot, do do that voodoo that you do so well.
  21. You can't just be white. You have to be white and look like you try really hard and not strike out too much.
  22. I don't know, but it was hard to figure how he was so effective last year, and now it seems to be balancing out.
