  1. Aside from being bad, part of the motivation has to be inspiring those guys to ask out.
  2. Hurts less than seeing what other guys have done.
  3. I get why they were exploring the options, but with that return I don’t get why you go forward with it. Underwhelmed is an understatement. It doesn’t come close to matching value. Most like option is they don’t get the best guy in the draft next year and they’ll be terrible again. They’ll be desperately looking for a guy like Debrincat in two years. They clearly valued getting rid of him over getting value for him, and forced a trade right after telling the media the last thing they want to do is force something.
  4. Ottawa picks 7th tonight, right after where the Blackhawks would be picking if they didn’t make the horribly timed trade for Seth Jones. If it’s not much more than that pick, would be terrible.
  5. Draft is tonight, in addition to possibly trading Debrincat for the 2nd or 5th, there’s this: I’d be fine with that one.
  6. I dont have time for that
  7. what? what new nfl teams stadium is considered "multi-use"? they are all nfl specific stadiums...and have been for the past 20-25 years Met Life is for all intents and purposes the vet or three rivers or the stadium it replaced:
  8. I had Bell being the target instead of Mancini in my original post. Then I looked at his stats for this season and figured he's probably going to get overpaid by some team thinking this is the new normal for him. I agree I'd prioritize a left-handed hitter, but just grabbed the first name that represented an easy upgrade, but would come pretty cheap. My lowkey favorite option for #2 on your list is Schwarber. If Philly decides that their "ignore defense entirely" approach didn't work and looks to re-tool the roster, he should be available for players on the back half of our 40 man crunch. Unfortunately, if Dombrowski is still in charge this winter, I don't think that'll happen. My *hope* is that Mervis continues to really force the issue for the rest of the summer. First base is just sitting there waiting to be claimed. It's really hard to have a winning team with negative offensive contributions from 1B. Debrincat for Schwarber and a 1st.
  9. I guess those theories never stuck in my brain. But also, Cliff Clavin Jeopardy dot gif
  10. People speculating that there had to be an incident, otherwise it’s a terrible look by Poles to do over phone while the guy is on vacation. I think a lot of what Poles has done so far, or rather not done, lends credence to the notion that he’s just an ahole who doesn’t care how this impacts somebody he didn’t hire. Or, put another way: yeah, i'm getting the same impression. guess we'll see if anything more comes out about this. for now, i'm kinda starting to think the people who implied that something smelled off in the failed ogunjobi physical might be onto something. Wait, what?

  12. Yeah, I don't like it, but I get it.
  13. I hate the idea of trading Debrincat, but if they get a high 1st this year plus another 1st, that would go a long way to accelerating the rebuild.
  14. The hitting coach. Who “very rarely” brings out the lineup card and obviously went out there with a purpose.
  15. Tanking is a much more prevalent and obvious thing now. Jed wants to lose games. Heyward makes that more likely. He’s fine with it.
