  1. sweet article, i had never heard of whiff and ink
  2. Gaudin has started 50 Major league games, and has a career 4.71 era as a SP. Ten of those starts came when he was 20-22 years old, over the last two years he has had a 4.32 era in 40 starts. Gaudin has been around for a little while, so I don't think some people realize how young he is still. Personally I feel he could step in the rotation and give us a 4.40-4.50 era in 28-30 starts next year easily. But that could be why I feel much better about next season then most. Heilman is a bit of a wild card, I think he could turn into a pretty solid starter(better then Marshall and Gaudin). But we shouldn't count on it at all, with him not starting since 05. I do think Heilman has the potential to be Kerry Wood like good out of the pen though. i agree, i really really like the heilman trade
  3. taken from MLB trade rumors links... Piniella ''is the manager who hates pitchers,'' says Jeff Nelson, a Yankees reliever who used to pitch for Seattle. ''It's not hard to understand why that is.'' Piniella was a great hitter for 18 seasons; his professional responsibility was to loathe pitchers. How could he just shut that off? ''He just doesn't have patience,'' Nelson says. ''He doesn't understand pitchers. He tells you, 'Throw the ball over the plate.' You feel like saying: 'Is that what I'm supposed to do? I didn't know that. I thought I was supposed to come out here and walk everyone.' '' lol here is another one To quote Jim Kaat from Sunday night's BBWAA dinner, about his old Yankees teammate Lou Piniella: "I've always been amazed that a guy could be such a successful manager even though he hates pitchers." My apologies if I tweaked a word or two there, but that was Kaat's sentiment. Heilman had best get off to a good start, for his sake. just thought this thread could use a little giggle spice
  4. just add hot water that is what the little packet of nestle dark chocolate hot chocolate says to me from its lifeless and limp position on the nightstand next to my desk just add hot water remarkable across the room i have a little plastic sandwich bag full of mini marshmallows, beckoning me to molest the safety seal strip. just add hot water all i need to is reach to my left, get up from this chair, cross the room, grab the plastic bag, stroll through the darkened hallway towards the kitchen, flipping on the sink light on and remember to just add hot water
  5. ah...the voice of reason Gotta make room for the return of Les Walrond. there is one spot open now a backup middle infielder is coming soon does the 40 man have to be full at the start of the season, or can it still have a spot open? 40 man can have as many spots open as you want. thank you
  6. i think what he said really has nothing to do with his intelligence level pretty funny stuff if you ask me plus, he gave a very kind nod to the organization and city that takes care of his direct income
  7. awesome...pujols is now the joint agent of manny got to love it!
  8. haha speaking of that he released a new one yesterday: lol very nice!
  9. yeah guys... because this thread, or any other thread on this site for that matter, has never had an evolving conversation... if it is relevant, why complain? you aren't following along too well. the entire conversation is about whether or not the team is better or worse than last year, excluding budgets, age, injuries, all of that. hmmm i guess the dollars and cents talk on the previous page should be ignored then?
  10. except that hill actually had a full good season fine...leave 10 seconds of blank screen at the end of the video for introspection
  11. quick...someone do a tribute ala jock jones with the thanks for the memories vid on youtube just show the home run pitch from game 3 of the 07 NLDS best of luck to you Mr. Hill :hello:

  14. Fukudome is still in the lineup (against RHP, so for the majority of the games) so Bradley isn't replacing him. He's basically replacing Edmonds. Fontenot is replacing DeRosa. And our bullpen is probably worse than last year. Damn, no Eyre or Howry. Or Kerry Wood... So now Hendry is fitting DeRosa and Wood into his budget? Yeah, I'm sorry he should have kept them and not given Dempster and Bradley those crazy contracts. Then we could be complaining about Marquis being our fourth starter and Gaithright/Johnson platooning in CF and Fukudome every day in RF. Nobody's talking about budgets, they're talking about how the team is worse than last year. budgets are relevant though

  16. it really is too bad about ole OPR i think the orioles will be a good fit for him the AL east will make him put up or shut up
  17. If Keyop is an android, why does he fall in love in the episode "Cupid Does It To Keyop"?
  18. I agree with this, but it's far from a fact. Why? Unless Gooz breaks out, I don't see it. No, it definitely is not. actually, from a left/right standpoint, it is
  19. i don't think he said anything about them being popular, most of them weren't maybe it will work out again honestly, my main concern this season is going to be how much, if anything, the team gets out of harden i like the offense kosuke will have a bounce back campaign our bullpen is better than last year our lineup is more balanced this team actually looks pretty rockin'...harden is only thing making me a bit nervous
  20. big whoopee ownership is in flux and a deadline deal is more probable at this stage not saying it is going to be peavy, but at least we can hang onto our core prospects for the deadline, since something else may need to be acquired then or available
