  1. the cardinals ummm, didn't you here? no i didn't...i named a team that had the potential to have a rotation just as good or better than the cubs if harden goes down...so do the reds... that is not the same as saying the reds or cardinals are better than the cubs
  2. all of my leagues are fine...are you in private leagues? i was in a private league last season and the commish forgot to include the japan games with the red sox and althetics
  3. There's no stat debate. It's not about gut feelings. Do you see what I'm saying here? I'm not arguing with you about the fact that the possibility exists that the Cubs could lose and the Cardinals could beat us out for the division. I agree with you on that. It's a fact. They could. That says nothing, however, about which team is better. The Cardinals are not better than the Cubs. That's blatantly obvious. holy christ, way to go around in circles... never did i say the cardinals are better than the cubs...
  4. gut feeling...sorry not going to get into a stat debate because one isn't required but thank you for trying to lead me by the nose, without you i would have never found my way
  5. poop...forgot to mention the always reliable neal cotts
  6. alright, you want to talk stats wise, or do you want to talk actual team wise performance...? stats wise...yes...the cubs have the best rotation and best lineup... however...if harden should go down...it wouldn't shock me to see the cubs falter...and i think it takes away any advantage we currently have in the division... this team has some serious question marks right now 2nd base...question mark center field...question mark right field...high potential question mark short stop...can he do it again? 1st base...will he get locked into his head again? harden...how many times does he step on the mound? patton...? vizciano...?
  7. that is really exciting, but i think you would be silly to say that the cardinals couldn't keep pace with the cubs if harden goes down unless carpenter is done as well...
  8. oh good god almighty...you guys are hilarious YES i think the cardinals can surprise...SHOCK... YES i think the reds can surprise...SHOCK... the NL Central crown is far from being guaranteed to the Cubs
  9. right...i forgot...you guys like to sit around and pretend the cardinals suck until they are neck and neck with the cubs in july...
  10. your league set up date might not have been set correctly
  11. laugh it up guys...they are talented
  12. Assume Harden goes down for a significant amount of time and we are forced to add Shark to the rotation. Name one team in the Central that will have a better rotation than the Cubs. Also, name one Central team with a better starting lineup than the Cubs. Go ahead. I'll be waiting patiently for your reply. the cardinals
  13. night game...check...espn...check...opening day...check at least 24 times/under... i have no clue how over/under works
  14. When will he become a free agent? I don't understand how it works. He is signed through this season, and then he will go through arbitration, is that correct? So, the rays could purchase his arbitration years? And, if not, he becomes a free agent in a couple of seasons? Me confused!?
  15. i thought he was getting skipped...?
  16. i know this will fall under the classification of "The Sky is Falling Rants/Questions" but... is anyone else getting an uneasy feeling about this season?
  17. i would even say escobar may be a better option starting to understand my distrust of burnett?
  18. so you're saying is he'll get shelled in a few games. sweet. yes, he hasn't gotten shelled in almost a decade. the last time he had a below average season (when he was on the field) was 2000. there's a big difference between inconsistency and getting shelled. what matters is your overall numbers for the season. yup, he had a bad first half last season, and he made up for it in the second half. i just don't understand where the "he's going to get shelled" stuff is coming from. i haven't seen a single reason why that's suddenly going to happen. i also don't understand why you like jackson. he supposedly has good stuff. too bad he sucks. i have no idea how he kept his era so low last season. he walks a ton of guys but doesn't stikre anybody out. so far for his career he has a 1.63 whip with a 6.1 K/9 and almost as many walks as k's. his minor league numbers aren't very good either. he had a couple nice stints at aa and that's it. ok ok ok ... i didn't know that you were defining shelled as "shelled within the constants of an entire season"...fine...you win that one i suppose... but those lines up there are (shell) lines... he is up and down is all i am saying... jackson is just a gut feeling...i may very well be completely wrong...i accept that i just don't trust burnett...simple as that... i don't like taking guys on my fantasy team who you have to play russian roulette
  19. i have had a man crush on this cutler kid for a few years...WHAT A [expletive] ARM!!! i think i can follow football a little bit more next season :stickman:
  20. bradley in his 3rd at bat in game 2
  21. in almost a decade? really? this is why taking burnett is a risk...look at his game log from last season... up and down....and then up and down some more just a couple of snippets 4/8 - 4.2 IP 10 H 6 R 6 ER 6/7 - 4.1 IP 10 H 8 R 6 ER 6/19 - 5 IP 8 H 8 R 8 ER 7/9 - 7 IP 7 H 7 ER here is a link to the game log - http://sports.yahoo.com/mlb/players/6314/gamelog;_ylt=Atb1vfa5eqf46z5covMV4AeFCLcF just saying...maybe worth the trade maybe not...depending on if the rest of the pitching can absorb some of his numbers i would much rather take a flyer on jackson...he has the possibility to put together a solid season...
  22. is that asian pitcher for the braves still available kenshin or what have you? what about edwin jackson? they are bound to be better than burnett...just my 2 cents
  23. that is a tough call, but seattle's pen is silly stupid and your pitching is pretty weak just be ready for him to get shelled...burnett that is
  24. lol...did you see that hustle from jones on that hit to center? he was blowing a bubble with his gum as the pall passed him!
