  1. Rotator cuff injuries are almost never minor. They start out that way sometimes and become worse. A strain is usually just another word for small tear. I shutter every time I hear about a pitcher with a rotator cuff injury, it's much worse than injuring your elbow.
  2. P. Sullivan says (twitter) hes off to get an MRI. We've been through this with our pitchers enough to know that means he'll have to recover from the ink at the bear minimum.
  3. He's not he's in left for Soriano because he plays defense like my grandmother.
  4. If we are lucky it's mild tendonitous, I think I butchered the spelling but you get the idea. Well so much for this game... Just makes me sick to see this blown.
  5. I guess that makes sense, thanks lol
  6. No one is posting boxscores this year?
  7. This loss is annoying, but its not the end of the world I thought there were a lot of possitives to take from it. Marmol is gonna have these game where he implodes and hopefully all the wierd bloop hits dont happen in bunches like they did today. I was happy with the way Garza pitched and the continuing awesomeness of Castro.
  8. Muslim rapper. Didnt know he was Muslim, learn something new everyday I guess.
  9. Wasn't that bad, I've heard much worse, he didnt quite make that high note near the end there but that was the worst of it. His butchering of the pronunciation of America was disturbing.
  10. Wow stranded runner in scoring position, what a shocker.
  11. Now there is a line I've heard before, there's going to be a lot of copy pasting that line this season just change the pitcher's name.
  12. ¿Que? At least the games I watched, I wasn't watching late in the year. This offense is gonna suck just like last year.
  13. Que silent offense for rest of game... Yup looks like last year
  14. Hey, at least surprises are fun! true, thus the glass half empty perspective.
  15. it really angers me watching him "chase" down fly balls usually I'm screaming and throwing things while he's casually jogging to where the ball will undoubtedly land and roll past him for extra bases. He doesn't seem in pain he just seems not to care. Anyone remember Andre Dawson? That guy had terrible knees but you could tell the man was going all out on every play. I don't remember him ever taking the approach that Soriano seems to.
  16. I disagree. Pena could be a complete bust. why is Soto going to be better? Aramis could just be on the decline and your putting your faith in Dewitt and Barney to be an offensive upgrade? I also think Soriano will continue to worsen with the bat. I'll be surprised if this offense is better than last year. I think your setting yourself up for disappointment but I tend to be a glass half empty type of guy.
  17. I wonder if he had a really, really dismal season if he'd just retire. I guess he'd have to be pretty bad. *sigh* a man can dream. I just don't envision any scenario in which Soriano is worth what he's being paid, or even close to it for that matter. He's going to cost us so much defensively it'll offset any value he has on the offensive side. He looked worse than ever in left during spring training, he might as well be walking to the ball.
  18. This roster doesn't have a stunning lack of talent. true, there's really nothing stunning about it. it's essintialy the same lineup we ran out there last year + Pena - Lee. The lacking part is a matter of perspective or who you compare them to. I don't see a great deal of offensive talent either. Where did the offense rank last year among NL teams? I'm willing to bet it was somewhere near the bottom. Aramis will be better but how much is certainly unknown, Soriano could easily be worse. There are a lot of question marks in this lineup offensively. So lacking is certainly a valid description.
  19. I said good not great. Keep dreaming, this team is not the 2010 Giants.
  20. Yes. Yea that's kinda weird. I don't think it makes you a bad Cubs fan, but people really need to drop this notion that their intentionall fielding mediocre teams, and the only way that we as fans can knock some sense into them is with tough love and stop going to the games. I don't think it matters wether it's intentional or not. I'm certainly not that excited about our chances this year, not any more so than last year. The pitching should be good but the hitting won't be enough to win enough games to put us in the playoffs. they really didn't do anything to improve it. The only real exciting thing they did during the offseason was to add Garza and did so at great cost. Combine these things with usual poor weather, and that's why you have less than stellar ticket sales for opening day. I don't really know that I'd shell out the money to go this year either.
  21. This response was good to see. This team has a long history of carrying crappy overpaid veteran players for far to long. If they'd learn to quit signing them to long term contracts to begin with then maybe the circle of learning would be complete. Id much rather see them play players with the potential to be good instead of players whose obvious ceiling is mediocrity.
