  1. I’m afraid the pick-6 early in the fourth quarter is emblematic of why the coaching staff doesn’t let Fields throw down the field. They’re trying to win and save their jobs, not make it easier for the fans to look forward to the 2024 draft.
  2. Guys, I’m not sure this team’s QB situation is quite there yet.
  3. Jordan Love really has 3 TDs and 0 picks at Soldier Field in week one. About as painful as it gets.
  4. These Herbert runs are sure to get us right back in it.
  5. Sadly I think this still is a big part of what’s happening.
  6. Guys we finally outlasted Aaron Rodgers and they’re still killing us, it’s funny really.
  7. I think they’re (again) showing us what they think of our passing game.
  8. I personally can’t wait for the pitch clock. Football has a play clock. Basketball has a shot clock, a clock to get the ball past half court, a free throw clock, and a clock to inbound the ball. Most of these were adopted and have been updated and re-updated over time precisely in response to gameplay trends. Baseball is getting dusted in the TV watchability department. It’s not perfect, but it’s a start.
  9. At this point, nothing would surprise me as far as the length and amount of the deal Correa ultimately signs.
  10. Brandon Belt to Toronto. 1 year $9.3 million.
  11. My $0.02 is that I don't think the Bears will seriously entertain drafting a QB and/or trading Fields, but (1) might leak stories to that effect to try and raise the price of the #1 overall pick in a potential trade, and (2) owe it to themselves to seriously scout Young, Stroud, et al. as part of their diligence and in preparation for facing those guys once they're in the league. Reasonable minds might differ as to whether, purely in a vacuum, Young is a better QB prospect than Fields coming out of college. IDK. But regardless of where you or the Bears might rank Young vs. Fields, I just can't see any way the Bears draft a QB given the horrible situation Fields was put in this year coupled with the production (albeit, mostly rushing) he was able to generate. He's also one of those guys who always says the right things and is popular with teammates, fans, etc., so tossing him aside may cause collateral damage with other players, fans, and agents. At the end of the day, unless they truly think Young is *that* guy--i.e., a generational-type prospect, I think they'll keep Fields and use our draft capital elsewhere.
  12. A local reporter for SNY (Andy Martino) just tweeted that the Mets apparently are now “very frustrated” and considering walking away. Apologies for being technologically incompetent and not embedding the tweet here.
  13. Yea, I was just saying to my wife that I could see a bunch of players retiring this off-season.
  14. Why do you want the starters out there next week? 5 stars to this post
  15. No. Nobody can look at this and conclude the coaching staff is competent. Yea I mean I get it that we’re rebuilding and the roster is lolbad but I haven’t been particularly impressed this year.
  16. Are we sure this coaching staff knows what it’s doing?
  17. Fascinated by a medical concern that’s severe enough to cause the cancellation of an official press conference but not so concerning that the player can’t still get 12/315 in a matter of days (if not hours). Really curious to learn whether the Giants reduced their offer due to this medical concern (and if so, how much).
  18. Justin Turner to the Red Sox for 2/22.
  19. Fair numbers. Agree, seems basically fine to me.
  20. Apparently deal is 7/177 with a full NTC.
  21. Legitimately in awe that 5/75 is the biggest deal that franchise has ever done.
