  1. Any extra's please PM or email me at Kneuby@gmail.com.
  2. This move allows Hendry to dangle Marshall/Gallegher/Dempster/ Marquis in bait in a deal for a top of the rotation starter or some help in the middle infield/CF.
  3. Hopefully Hendry is trying to trade Jason Marquis for prospects that he can use in a trade with Baltimore because there's no way Hendry trades Hill.
  4. http://blogs.chicagosports.chicagotribune.com/sports_hardball/2008/01/cubs-targeting.html Wonder if they found a taker for Marquis or Dempster or just building some depth if they have to deal Gallegher and Marshall.
  5. And ARod. Him and Boras have been speaking for months. so your saying me and you have the same source.
  6. This Brian Roberts trade fiasco has been smokescreen Hendry is going after Santana.
  7. If the Cubs were willing to let Fukudome play center, they wouldn't need another corner outfielder. They'd just use Murton. The fact that they are chasing a backup CF suggests they are not comfortable moving Fukudome, which is why they possibly would want Payton over Huff. Murton could be on his way to Baltimore and Hendry's first plan of attack probably wasn't Fukodome for Cf but I don't think he thought he had a shot at getting Bedard either.
  8. If this did somehow turn about to be a blockbuster with us nettng Bedard/Roberts Hendry more than likely have to take another contract back from the O's some reports have had it being Jay Payton . Hendry should Target Huff instead and move Fuku to center . Huff/Bradford/Millar are all better options for the Cubs than Jay Payton. Soranio Roberts Lee Ramirez Fukodome Huff Soto Theriot
  9. I know your joking but it's not helping my sanity. I'm really being totally serious. But it's still rumor, which is kind of a joke.
  10. Marquis and Cotts for Padilla and Bryd. I would gamble that Padilla can put the booze down and put up better numbers than Marquis did last year. Some teams might see him as a closer option.
  11. A relief pitcher should never be a sticking point, IMO. Never? If Hendrys gonna sell the farm he should make that offer to the Twins for Santana/Harris. They'd be more than likely to dump Rincon on us which might not be a bad thing if he rebounds.
  12. I can't find a link to my all time favorite the Mail order video to become a Kanas city royal.
  13. Health of the organiztion at SS? Ronny Cedeno was a non-prospect in the minds of many on this board for a long time, for a fun read search the thread to see when Hendry first added him to the 40 man. The Cubs don't have to make any moves for the sake of making a move but if they want to compete for a world series there still coming up short. At this point neither Gallegher or Marshall figure into the Cubs rotation plans. Adding a fine defensive/offensive player like Roberts , plus helping bulletproof you bench be having a guy like Mark Derosa in Tony Phillips role can only help. If you think Hendrys overpaying for Roberts and should get a shortstop instead thats fine , but calling it a lateral move at best is just a joke.
  14. Flat out steal for the Cards here no matter which way you shake it. 1. Bad contract 2. Health issues 3. Manager he doesn't want to play for. yet they get a healthy , younger, better contract and at this point a superior player.
  15. Stone ran proposed a Manny for Aram a few years but I clearly remember Stone advocating a Aram for Izturis a few years back also it was laughable even then.
  16. those cats look like they hit left handed and hit out of the two hole Kaz might not be suited for the top of the order period but Figgins and Roberts are standard leadoff hitter targets that Hendry has been after before. Fukodome is Jim's likely answer in the two hole, will be interesting to see where Piniella places him.
  17. If peolpe on this board think Hendry hasn't been looking for a leadoff so he can move Soranio down in the order you haven't been paying much attention this offseason . Kaz,Roberts Figgins.
  18. really really suprized the Cubs don't have there free agent prize coming to the convention, I thought for sure this was gonna be the start of the over marketing of this guy. Grace? Sutter? Gossage? Dunston? and as of now with the Cubs pretty much going with the same team as last year this years convention roster looks like a dud.
  19. as long as the source is given and the poster isn't making any money off it I see no problem in posting the whole article. It's a a stupid rule. Copyright law or not, it needs some re-working with whole internet fad taking over.
  20. I hate Angelos, and the Orioles insiders are all dead to me now. Wow Marlon Byrd doesn't suck . He makes a really solid 4 outfielder if the Cubs are able to get a deal done. Whats his defense like?
  21. I love the idea of a weekend series at for the Iowa cubs , If they priced the tickets right we might be able to outdraw the White Sox that weekend.
  22. Hendry been linked to some big name arms this off season. Burnett Bedard Blanton Kuroda Then some bottom of the rotation starters like Lieber. Lou is not totally sold as Dempster as a starter. Reports where that Hendry was shopping Marquis this offseason. Then in last couple of days we've seen seen the Cubs shopping for a center fielder (Cameron/Caberea/Lofton) ? Is Hendry dangling Pie for a top of the rotation starter? There's is one starter I haven't seen the Cubs get in on this offseason but I think they these match up well. How about a deal for Tim Lincecum built around Pie with Randy Winn also coming are way to manage center field?
  23. FWIW the post was more about frustration with the organization (Hendry) than it was a blast on Fox. Yes I realize it's a minor league deal and not worth getting upset over on the surface -- it's just tiresome to see Hendry play the same losing strategy over and over. What does Chad Fox have to do with Hendrys loseing strategy over and over? Marmol,Wood,Wuertz,Eyre,Howry, are set in the bullpen. There's a lot of young fireballers brought in to create for the final spots or spot. Fox is a must roster filler in AAA or insurance in case of a rash of injuries. He cost the Cubs nothing. This worked well for the Cards last year with Troy Percvial. We don't even have an update on Fox's health yet he might be hitting in the 90's again for all we know or not.
