    Patton is headed to surgery and will most likely miss this season leaving the Orioles staff another arm short hopefully talk them into taking Marquis off are hands.

    I can't see the Cubs taking Inge's contract on to be a platoon player. Inge has made it clear he wants to start and thats why he wants out of Detroit and that he doesn't want to catch.

    I do remember Linebrink being part of a deal with Barrett orginally can't say for sure if that deal included Greene though or any of those other names.

    They're already said that likely only one of Pie/Fuld will make the team. Also, I don't think Fontenot serves any purpose on this team. He's not a good defender, he can't play multiple positions, he doesn't steal bases, and isn't great with the bat. todays paper has Fontenot playing short,second, third this spring. He gets on base. Pretty solid hitter through the minors and showed a flash last year that he can hit up here. He's also a pretty solid baserunner with good speed just not much sucess with stealing bases. Fontenot should make a pretty solid 25th man.

    Piggy,Lahay, Ascanio, Ceda, Fox,Hart,Marshall, all are going be fighting for that last one or two spots.

    Kim on a minor league deal would have been a better gamble than Shinjo or how ever you spell Fukodome's spring training buddy.

    I would rather have shannon stewart , but if the Angels take all of Marquis's contract at least Willtis is cheap.

    in a fantasy world Dempster gets the closer role back and Piniella can use Wood/Marmol/Howry/Wuertz to secure the 6-8.

    A .750 ops split is not good. Not really, but it's a lot better than what the Cubs have currently. Is there anybody currently available that could consistently give the Cubs better? Shannon Stewart

    There was a lot of action on Colon early this offseason but his arm strength isn't there yet which is why no one has signed him yet. Sanders has said he wants to stay on the west coast or retire. Wilson as a guy that would only play against left handers and pinch hitting role would be nice.

    no way it should take Marmol,Murton,Gallegher,Veal, Cedeno to get Roberts/Sherill. That takes overpaying to a new level. Murton/Gallegher/Cedeno is fair but to throw in a high ceiling/ high risk guy like Veal and then Marmol is just wishful thinking on there parts.

    After the Roberts trade works it self out I'm a fan of Colon on a minor league contract. Mench would be a nice addition to the bench if we have to trade Murton. Lofton/Stewart /Green are all also nice options to have off the bench.
