  1. I bought up Randy the other day as an option at the back end of the rotation if he wanted to take a discount to play with Piniella again and contend. http://msn.foxsports.com/mlb/story/8795106/Braves-out-of-Peavy-sweepstakes
  2. Now that Free agency has begun the Cubs are might be looking for two free agent starters if Dempster walks, even though the Cubs have options I don't expect them to want to wait much longer.

  4. Finally some good news the Braves are out folks. http://hotstove.mlblogs.com/archives/2008/11/braves_no_longer_actively_purs.html
  5. Wood on a one year deal makes sense. Gregg can pitch the seventh.
  6. Lowe over Dempster even if cost wasn't a factor.

  9. I had gotten used to the thought that he was going to be on the mound closing it out when we finally win the one that makes history.

  11. I don't see Wood leaving unless he's getting offers from Arizona Houston,Texas and I don't think either of those three are really in the market. Kevin Gregg Just replaced Bob Howry. Cotts Gaudin Wuertz Gregg Marmol Wood Shark is back at Iowa Starting.
  12. The two ER were apparently both on solo dingers by Miguel Montero. The one unearned run scored after a two-out walk, Guzman error on a pickoff attempt, and a single. I'd be curious to know Guzman's pitch count. 6 IP is a lot if the Cubs are only going to use him as a reliever. Guzman is toying with us again with his solid performance thus far in winter ball . Hitting 97 again according to reports. He could he a huge weapon in the bullpen next year I just don't him starting again in the majors.
  13. Wasnt there pics to back up this story?
  14. This could mean Hendry has closed the door on Wood or Gregg could also be a piece in a three team deal for Peavy.
  15. Andy Nolan has said is a former big leaguer who now works for the Padres. Could is be Donnie's same source? Donnie you said you had some pics send them a mod , who will agree not post them.
  16. I still think Jim Hendry pulls this off .

  18. Kaplan and the score have been rather quiet on the Peavy trade talks since they started.

  20. By Jeff Passan, Yahoo! Sports http://sports.yahoo.com/mlb/news?slug=jp-peavyupdate111108&prov=yhoo&type=lgns Passan was way off about the Sharks NTC and is probably getting bad info again about the Yankees.
  21. Latest From Rosenthal: http://msn.foxsports.com/mlb/story/8782170/Brewers'-veterans-could-be-dealt-for-pitching-help
  22. http://www.suntimes.com/sports/baseball/cubs/1274284,CST-SPT-cub12.article Interesting comments but nothing really new. With Peavy/Harden/Z all going to be needing extra days rest it becomes important to have a strong 5/6 Man rotation to help keep those three aces healthy.
