  1. DeRosa for SS 2008! Anyway, if its at this stage shouldn't we hear something tonight/tomorrow?
  2. Free agents-- Colon,Kyle Lohse,Livan Hernandez,Matt Clement Thats all I can think of now Yech. Pretty slim pickings. I loved 03 so much I'd probably be happy if they signed Clement.
  3. http://wgnradio.com/index.php?option=com_content&task=blogcategory&id=120&Itemid=236 Back to this again. Wouldn't mind either, but would prefer Blanton. Blanton would look nice in the rotation. I guess we'd be giving up Pie for Blanton... Who the heck plays CF then?
  4. And my earlier question is answered. Gracias Fukudome-san
  5. Will the jersey question finally be resolved!?
  6. Its on like Donkey Kong
  7. I'd be fine with giving up Pie for Bedard but its only a good deal for me if they keep Hill. Z, Hill, Bedard, Lilly. Damn...
  8. Thanks for giving the Bears a shot at a better draft pick Eagles.
  9. Is Nate Burleson dead?
  10. Are people really saying they can tell what Prior felt and thought via watching him on tv?
  11. OMC,plz tell Brees he needs to outproduce Brady. kthx
  12. Solid article Bruce. Good stuff as always Bruce. One thing though, I could've sworn the Lou quote comparing him to other players was a cross between Hideki Matsui and Ichiro (not that I necessarily agree). You've got Kaz in there. Edit: From here: http://chicago.cubs.mlb.com/news/article.jsp?ymd=20071209&content_id=2321824&vkey=news_chc&fext=.jsp&c_id=chc Bump. You know, I screwed that up. The day Lou gave that original quote was the day the Cubs found out they got "beat" in the Kaz Matsui sweepstakes. So I went back and looked at my transcription of Lou's quote that day, and he said only "Matsui." So I've had "Kaz" Matsui on the brain. I'm sure he meant Hideki Matsui, and that would be a better thing. Hey Bruce! Any updates on what the Cubs are up to post-Kosuke? yea, is he flying to Chicago for an unveiling of any kind soon??? I was thinking more Roberts/Mystery Pitcher but yea that too.

  14. I'd think if we don't get the trade done in the next couple hours, it'd probably wait til Christmas... but I doubt it gets squashed either way. You really think it has the chance of getting done today? Why would it wait til X-Mas?
  15. If Roberts really is on the Mitchell report, does this plan get squashed when he's named tomorrow at 2pm?
  16. I was thinking that as well. I still don't see how their team could contend with ours or the Brewers.
  17. Any comments from Bruce on the likelihood of a trade for a pitcher?
  18. How is this thread at 7 pages?
  19. Noticed Bruce just posted in Baseball Discussions. Hopefully he stops by and gives us an update!
  20. I would really think about batting Soto 8th for the simple fact that it would be nice to have someone with some power in the 8 hole. I'm not a fan at all of batting Pie 8th because a lot of pitchers tend to pitch around the 8th place hitter by throwing borderline pitches or pitches just out of the strike zone. Pie seems to be just the type of hitter to fall for the "bait" and starting counts out 0-2 when they should be 2-0. I'd go like this (assuming Soriano won't move and Lou will fail to realize that DLee would be an awesome 2 hitter). Soriano LF Kusuke RF Lee 1B Ramirez 3B DeRosa 2B Pie CF Theriot/Cedeno SS Soto C Ideally, this would be my lineup (with Roberts and moving Soriano and Lee around) Roberts 2B Lee 1B Soriano LF--he'll see more fastballs between Lee and ARAM Ramirez 3B Kosuke RF DeRosa SS--even if he plays a terrible SS, can he be worse than Therior or Cedeno? Pie CF--less pressure, might see some pitches in front of Soto Soto C--batting 8th will hurt his numbers, but better than Pie or DeRosa here Also, with an outfield defense as amazingly awesome as Sori-Pie-Fuku, can't we afford to have a moderately crappy defensive SS?
  21. Seriously? Just strikes me as odd people would even care.
  22. lol I wasn't aware having a nickname for Carrie freaking Muskat was such a big deal.
