  1. pretty sure it was CT's doing but i could be wrong. That it was. Cheers.
  2. Can we burn van Dyck at the stake? The van Dyck article very much read like he was just reporting on what came out the day before. I didn't really buy in until Goldstein said he bought it. I'm kinda doubtful that article was correct. Heyman, Miles and Kapman all saying/acting like it was bogus. The thing is the article doesn't really say anything. It says "reports are" and crap like that. Those reports were the stuff we heard on Sunday, IMO. He didn't even attribute it to a "source." And all he said was they were "expected" to sign him. Fair enough.

  4. Bruce chimes in: Can we burn van Dyck at the stake?
  5. Well this should get fun really fast: http://www.csnchicago.com/blog/cubs-talk/post/Kaplan-Cubs-Soler-do-not-have-deal-in-pl?blockID=650974&feedID=661&awid=8491509489535678227-914
  6. (I know we're not supposed to attack posters, and I apologize to you mods in advance.) You're officially the worst.
  7. Wow, really sounds like it's all done. Fantastic job, regardless of the cost. They had money to invest and they invested it wisely. Really psyched for our minors. And to recap what I've seen (sorry if reposted), Goldstein has him as the new #1 and #38 in baseball, and Law has him as the new Cubs #2
  8. It's scoliosis. No, it's polio
  9. Sounds like it came down to years, not $$$. Agent apparently wanted long term deal (10 years) or just the 4 years til free agency. I'm guessing the A's are the only ones who went for either.
  10. Cubs absolutely could. This most likely means that the brain trust didn't think he was worth that kind of money. I consider this the first Theo fail. Now I'm rooting for Cespedes to suck so I can still believe in everything Theo does. Considering this to be a "fail" would be remarkably premature.

  12. DeSean Jackson will unsurprisingly be franchise tagged by the Eagles.
  13. http://joefrisaro.mlblogs.com/2012/02/12/marlins-clear-cespedes-frontrunner/ Strategy makes sense to me. On another note, you think MLB could spring for blogs that don't look like they came from the 90s.
  14. Given how Goldstein phrased it, it sounds like the Cubs might already be there.
  15. Not surprising. At least this puts added pressure on the front office to actually address the WR position for once.
  16. I know this was posted in the Cespedes thread but given the Goldstein post and signifigance of Soler, I figure I'd give it a bump.
  17. Oh Asik...
  18. Seriously though, the more I read about how the Marlins apparently decided to hype themselves up and lowball the guy, the more encouraged I get. I wish OFAC would hurry the heck up.
