  1. WOW, Braun is just a terrible glove man. 3 tonight and 5 for the team. This is why he didn't make the team out of Spring Training...
  2. BASES CLEARING TRIPLE or double and an error. edit: Jenkins messed that up
  3. Bases loaded and no outs. Make it hurt.
  4. Nice bunt, now let's get a few runs here!
  5. And thankfully there will be no Dunn. Or Griffey. :D FWIW, Steve Stone seems to think that Aaron Harang is hurt and he may not be starting in the last series either. :)
  6. Only because Selig told LaRussa that for every run the Cards score this series a dog or cat will be eaten by Jerry Reinsdorf. LOL, I love it
  7. They are a horrible team but they've battled intra divisional teams. I'm suspicious. Again, this same bad team swept the Brewers the last time they faced them. wrong! this is nothing close to that 'bad team'. get a grip... LOL, you get a grip buddy.
  8. The Cardinals have what, two real hitters in that lineup? I doubt they'll put up 5 in this game. They scored 4 last night off of Oswalt/Quade/Lidge They had 20 hits on Saturday. This was all without Pujols in the lineup. That's why I'm not totally convinced that the Brewers won't find a way to blow this (I'm just distrustful of the Cardinals motivations).

  10. That's the thing. Just take care of Florida, everything else will take care of themselves.
  11. This isn't about their team, this is about a pitcher who has been pretty good all year looking like crap . I could still see the Brewers finding a way to lose this game. Remember when Oswalt threw that game against us in July? I guess it's even now. Cause good pitchers pitching poorly = THROWING THE GAME That's hardly the same thing. The Astros and the Cubs aren't long-time rivals and Oswalt loves beating the Cubs (especially since he and Barrett got into it). There is definitely added intensity, they are playing a divisional game with playoff implications it's not like they are playing the Nationals. This is, largely, the same Cardinals team that swept the Brewers the last time they played them. That was your reasoning behind the Cards throwing it. One of their pitchers who is good is doing poorly. I'm pointing out that just maybe there could be some other reason, like the fact that pitchers much better than Wainwright could have bad games, even against offenses not as good as Milwaukee's. But yeah, he's probably just costing himself money by giving up runs on purpose to give a team with a mathematical 3% chance of overtaking the Cubs that extra 2% chance. Definitely worth it to him. My comments were exclusive to the Cardinals and to this situation. There would be no motivation for another pitcher or team playing in a normal regular season game. This one game isn't going to cost Wainwright one dime. We'll have to agree to disagree.
  12. Not but they're making fun of us for saying LaRussa, Wainwright, and the mayor of St. Louis are involved in a conspiracy to lose to the Brewers. With good reason. LMAO, many people over there said the Pirates laid down for the Cubs which obviously wasn't the case because they tried to juggle their rotation to win the series.

  14. Yet those sad sacks managed to give the Astros all they could handle. They also played the Cubs tough but lost. This is just bad! You can't be serious. Do you think the players really give a rat's ass about this "rivalry?" Pro sports rivalries are all about the fans. The players don't give a crap. The Cardinals aren't taking a dive in this series to screw the Cubs over. They just suck. That's what bad teams do. This isn't totally true. We had Steve klein wishing Prior tak a line drive to the head. These guys care more than you think.
  15. Yet those sad sacks managed to give the Astros all they could handle. They also played the Cubs tough but lost. This is just bad! OMG THE MIGHTY ASTROS???? They probably started Pujols that whole series too!!! Could the effort experts explain those last 3 Ks? Probably just Wainwright turning the switch back on, 4 runs was enough to stop the Cardinals offense from winning, so he can throw a perfect game now. Or something. God help us if the Cards come back and win, I guess that'll be the Brew just being that pathetic losing to the Cards who are actively trying to lose because they HATE THE CUBS Maybe he wanted to give them a cushion. I wouldn't rule it out like your proclamation of "zero" chance TLR is throwing the game. It is possible that he talked to them about not overexerting themselves...

  18. I'd be willing to bet on it. Me too. LOL, and now a wild pitch and a runner on third with no outs.
  19. I don't believe Wainwright is trying. This is bogus.
  20. Th Cubs can't count on the Cards for anything...Whatever, they won't sweep the Padres.
