  1. Oh, somebody gets it. I just don't think, right or wrong, that Dunn's value is as high as people think it is. I just don't see teams offering top prospects for Dunn.
  2. The main value in that trade is weeks and the reds already have Phillips breaking out. Gwynn is a 4th OF and Wise is a fine 6th inning guy, but I don't get it. Hurry Jim, call Krivisky right now and offer him Pagan, Ohman, and DeRosa. Eh, we would find a place for Weeks and Phillips to play. I don't know where, but we would. I don't care what he is hitting htis year, Weeks has a boat load of potential and I would love to have him. If you think you can do better, lets hear an offer. I have an idea...play one of them at third!!! I wonder what E.E. did in previous life that was so bad that God made him be in the Reds organization. Now THAT'S a good question. I have no idea what the hell we are doing with him. It's like we are trying to mess him up. Part of me hopes we trade him for his own good, even though he is my favorite Red. Although that didn't work out too well for Wily Mo. In regards to the trade proposal, it just doesnt make sense to me. I would think they would be going after young starters....or 17 relievers. There was just no room for Wily Mo. We've been giving some of Edwin's playing time to Ryan Freel and Norris Hopper. Doesn't make any sense.

  4. Freel=bad Hamilton=hurt Besides, Hamilton is more of a COF anyways. Well, if Guzman ever gets healthy, a deal of EPatt, Guzman, and Cedeno would be just as good as that Brewers deal. Guzman is hurt, and Cedeno is a AAAA player. That's why I said if he ever does get healthy. And the jury is still out on Cedeno...it's not like he's really old or anything. I'm not advocating that deal. All I'm doing is trying to come up with a better trade offer than that "proposal" that the Brewers made. You're seriously telling me you'd rather have Matt Wise over Angel Guzman? Angel Guzman is hurt. Weeks by himself is better then Cedeno and Patterson combined. Are you completely blind? What part of "IF" do you not understand? I said "IF Guzman gets healthy." That being said, I doubt he will be healthy by July 31. And how can you say that statement when no one has even seen Patterson play a lick of ball in the majors? It's not like Weeks is setting the world on fire this year either. Then why are you even bringing it up? How can anyone say anything about prospects then? Weeks has produced in the majors (last year) and has a world of talent. I have no idea what Dunn trade value is, and from what I am hearing people aren't exactly offering top dollar for him.

  7. Haven't we beat you 4 of 6? Didn't Kyle Loshe throw 8 shutout innings and K you 12 times? And where are the Reds now? Getting swept at home by a team that's 15 under .500 is pretty pathetic. You'll get your turn. Playing pretty well without Naroon if I must say.

  11. Apparently the "hot" rumor in Atlanta this afternoon was Dunn going to the Crew for Weeks, Gwynn, and Wise. Now mind you, this is only a rumor, and this isn't like the Jacque deal. I've heard Dunn deals before that didn't go down, but just some food for thought.
  12. I can't see the Reds dealing him when he is on the verge of 600. Maybe in the offseason or at the 08 deadline. I'd deal both him and Dunn though.
  13. Oh you slay me! Lets give it up for Vance everyone.
  14. Yeah they showed him. Apparently Pujols isn't too happy. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- "It's the All-Star game. He can do what he wants," Pujols said Tuesday night. "He does whatever he wants. If I wasn't expecting to play, I wouldn't have come up here" "If he wants to get upset, he can get upset," La Russa said. "Whatever he wants to do, he can do. It's America. That wasn't the most important thing tonight."
  15. 1. Javier Valentin is a god awful catcher. Sure he cant hit vs. righties, but he is the worst defensive catcher. 2. Why the hell would the Reds want Scott Eyre. If we are dumping Dunn, it's to get rid of his salary because we don't want to sign him. Signing Scott Eyre gives us a bad reliever with a bad contract. I like Murton and would love to have him in LF, but why would we want Eyre? No Eyre, and switch Hill with Marshall.
  16. Did Murton die or something? Send down Pie and call up Murton.
  17. Bring back Bako AND Lofton! Good old days!
  18. Me. Talk about overrated. I would rather keep Murton who would out produce Dunn. HR is an overrated stat. You can score without a HR. You can't score that often when you have a Run Producer setting the all time record for season strikeouts. Dunn produces over 200 runs a year. Matt Murton will never produce 200 runs in his career.
  19. Marshall instead of Hill and I'd do it. Any Reds deal with the Cubs starts with Sean Marshall. Also, the Reds may be close to dealing Dunn to the LAA. I'll be surprised if the Reds deal Griffey this year. He's closing in on 600 homers, and come August and September he is going to be our only draw. I think it's more likely he gets taded next year in his walk year then this year.
  20. Looks like the clock strikes midnight on cinderella. It was a good run. (1) CaliforniaRaisin ROUND ONE - Defeated (16) reds 44 90-19 I still got screwed.
  21. Eh, I think that is speculation at this point. I've heard Girardi, Brenly, LaRussa, Ozzie, and Torrie all mentioned. Our owner wants to make a splash, but whether any of them want to come here remains to be seen. We also fired Bucky f****** Dent today. He was upset that he didn't get the interm job. From the sounds of it, it wasn't a pretty ending.
  22. We have a $70 million payroll. It's not great, but it's not awful either. Narron needed to be fired about a month ago. It's about time. He was by far the worst manaer in baseball. Yeah, but you have to admit that it's kind of funny that the GM of the Reds has the audacity to fire the manager when he should have fired himself first. No. The franchise is in a helluva lot better shape then when he took over at the beginning of spring training last year. As sad as that sounds, it's true. Our system has gone from one of the worst in baseball to resectable. You have to give a GM more then two years to rebuild a franchise. This team is not 31-51 bad. It's not good, but it's not that bad. Krivsky hasn't been great and he has made mistakes, but I'm not ready to call for his head yet. Although I wanted us to hire Mike Hill over Krivsky.
  23. I highly doubt the Reds would trade Griffey when he is chasing down 600 and will likely be the teams only draw in August and September. Next year is more likely the year he gets dealt. Dunn, on the other hand, will probably be delt. Same goes with Hatteberg, Conine, Weathers, and maybe a few others.
