No one's gonna jump on this? Also, why would the Cardinals have an interest in Navarro? Molina on the DL. But no deal. According to multiple reports, STL wouldn't meet the Cubs' asking price. Ahh, had no idea Molina was on the DL. I was secretly hoping for an unexpected Biogenesis suspension :) Fingers crossed! -
For the life of me, I could have sworn it was around 6pm when I heard the news. I do remember it being on a Saturday, my wife and I were on our way back home from the Stl Zoo. I didn't have a smart phone yet, so as soon as we got in the car, I turned on 720am (TONS of static) and no reports about anything. It's quite possible they were just recapping the Nomar deal. Once I heard it, I just started honking the horn like crazy and screaming. The people working thought I was nuts.

why? There's no point in midnight. At least later in the day than 3pm. I remember sitting in the drive-thru at a Steak-n-Shake when the Nomar deal happened. Now, I'm just stuck in my office, pretending to work, while watching twitter/nsbb.

How do you see Kennedy as better than Samardzija!?!?!? Well, for starters, Samardzija has a losing career record of 27-31, as opposed to Kennedy's winning record of 49-38.

And Odor is a much better name for headline writers...which is important. I could only imagine Harry trying to pronounce Rougned Odor backwards. Is it bad that I still do that? I try to say it like I think Harry would. Very drunkily.

Ugghh, little pat on the head and words of encouragement from condescending Cardinals fan would not be helpful to me. It's easy to give your rival a half hearted pep talk when the rivalry's as one sided as ours had been the past few years. not too mention that they are so stinkin' loaded with young talent it's sickening. It was more of a "this team isn't as bad as a lot of people think" type of thing... He wasn't trying to be rude. He said he's liked a lot of the moves the management has made.

I had a Cardinal fan (who is pretty well rounded in baseball knowledge and has a deep hatred of the Cubs) tell me that the future looks good for me (cubs fans in general). He was impressed with what he saw this past weekend from the Cubs, and said that if we had a bullpen worth anything, we'd (obviously) have a much better record. He liked what he saw from Rizzo for the most part. Said Castro was looking better as well. It was interesting to hear a Cardinal fan say that, instead of the usual "Cubs have sucked, do suck and will always suck" line.

It's early and a lot of things can happen but they're likely going to save their money for Toews, Kane and Saad. The Bowman strategy has always been not to pay goalies. The Hawks are now a place where vets will take less money on a short contract to get a ring. To anyone wondering why Raanta isn't the back up, it's simple: he's never really played on the smaller rinks of the NHL. it's an adjustment that would be better made in the AHL for at least a half season. I guess I didn't realize that hockey rinks aren't "standard" sizes. Interesting.

Didn't we just pick Henry off of waivers from Washington? In case you aren't joking, Dickson was traded for Rodriguez last month. Doh. I couldn't remember and wasn't about to actually look it up. My bad on that one.
