ridiculous. I honestly don't know why this is happening. We've all seen Philly get away with blatent penalties all series. If I was a conspiracy theorist, I'd suggest that the NHL thought the Blackhawks would roll over Philly coming into the series and had to find some way to try to even them up a bit. If that were the case, I'd expect a much more even officiated game in Game 5. It would make sense to have this occur too. 3rd and 4th biggest NHL markets, both teams have tradition and passionate fan bases. The Blackhawks are a really enjoyable team to watch (or so I've been told) and the Flyers are the ultimate Cinderella. There are storylines galore, and if there was a series that the NHL could use to put their game into the national spotlight, this would have to be it. That said, I just have a hard time believing in conspiracy theories unless there is some sort of proof (NBA Doughnahy). So it really perplexes me as to why the Hawks are getting such a bad shake from the officials. Even weirder is how no one is picking up on the disparity. I think the announcers, especially Olczyk, are seeing it - they just either aren't allowed to say it, or are voluntarily keeping their mouths shut about it. I know someone said they showed the slash call by a CHI player on Pronger, on CBC, but both 'Doc' and '"Eagle-Eye" Eddie'" admitted complete confusion on the call because they're own replays didn't catch it. And numerous times, both are heard saying during games "[PHI player] got away with one there against [CHI player]". Sad thing is, Gary Bettman is right there in the stands - at least he was @ both games in Philly - but still its happening with alarming frequency.
