  1. Ok, the ref doesn't call the shorts pulled off, but calls the other nothing. And it SHOULD have been a PK, cause he fell down in the box.
  2. And some MORE time killing by the Ghanaens, that will not be accounted for by the ref when it comes to stoppage time [should it be needed by the US].
  3. As [expletive]y as an American this makes me, I'll almost be really glad to see the US' run end today. Because I am getting just so very, very, very tired of seeing them continue to take it up the azz from the refs.
  4. Other than the most hardcore anti-US people, nobody on this Earth will find a reason that goal should have been disallowed. Utterly atrocious call, that neither the ref or FIFA has to own up to. Must be pretty damn sweet to be able to screw any soccer nation you want and not have to own up to it in the least little bit.

  6. Ha. Wow. So England has 2 points, but arguably they should easily have 6 points after 2 matches. If I were an England fan that made the trip, I'd be booing my azz off too. I find that I have to totally agree with what Alexei Lalas just said; "How about this? They [referring to England] just aren't that good (together)."
  7. They already said its gonna be 4 minutes of stoppage time added on. ESPN graphic is showing 3 minutes added on, but could have swore the announcer said 4 mins. :-k
  8. They already said its gonna be 4 minutes of stoppage time added on. Umm... quoted the wrong message here. #-o
  9. I'm not complaining if it helps the USA, but wow. England looked like dog [expletive] all match long. What's the deal? Too bad Green is on the bench, with his stone hands at least 1 goal might have been scored in these (will end up) ~95 minutes.
  10. Ya know its pretty bad when two English announcers are going off on the ref and FIFA about them screwing the US vs Slovenia.
  11. ALG guy gets his shorts pulled down, but he gets the foul called on him. Is the US/SLV ref making these calls!?
  12. ALG keeper coming up big (so far).
  13. England does realize that anything but a win here really puts them in a bit of a hole, right? Game just really seems to have a "ho-hum, whatever" feel from their side so far.
  14. Is he the one that Slov #7 is trying to get in a headlock and give a noogie to? If so, that is even worse than calling a phantom one on Edu. The US player in #7's grasp got absolutely raped.
  15. How sad is it that a still picture of that event makes it literally look like the Slov hugging Bradley is actually the one wearing the US jersey (if Bradley were wearing a short-sleeve top). But no, there was not a single foul committed by any Slovenian player in that scrum. Only a phantom foul to wipe out the game-winner. [-(
  16. Is that Edu making his run at the goal in the upper left corner?? And again with more proof that he didn't foul anyone before/during the free kick.
  17. Goalie: "I sure hope these pants don't display [expletive] stains!"
  18. We pretty much need ENG to at least draw ALG today, right? I'm thinking that if ALG somehow upsets ENG, that makes things pretty hairy going into the final round of group play, for the US. Standings would be; SLV 4 ALG 3 USA 2 ENG 1 That would mean that a US win over ALG would be required to advance, right? Not saying it wouldn't happen, but with the way the US likes to play from behind, not sure I like the idea of "anything other than a win" prevents them advancing out of group play.
  19. ESPN just showed it again, and it looked to me like he put his hands on the other player, not anymore than all the other players were doing, but there was contact. Ok, even if he did put his hands on the Slov, then it was with no force cause it didn't change the body movement or motion of the opposing player. And if that's called, how do 3 US players get blatantly held/accosted - all within very close proximity to each other - but not seen or called?
  20. OK from the time Donovan kicked the ball to the time that the ball was stuck by Edu was probably what 2 seconds, maybe 3 at most? So in that time Edu had time to foul someone, then get up to full speed to kick the ball in? Unless it happened before the ball was kicked. Not saying that's not possibly the case, but if so, that is about the worst "delayed whistle" I've ever seen. But then again, this ref was about the worst I've ever seen too, so that would explain it. The whistle blew as the ball was kicked into the net. Exactly. If the foul occurred before the free kick, why wait until the ball is being scored before blowing the play dead?
  21. OK from the time Donovan kicked the ball to the time that the ball was stuck by Edu was probably what 2 seconds, maybe 3 at most? So in that time Edu had time to foul someone, then get up to full speed to kick the ball in? Unless it happened before the ball was kicked. The ref was staring down Edu the whole time, and decided call some grab or nudge that isn't a foul and isn't in the Top 5 of foulable offenses on that play. It happened between Donovan striking the ball and Edu getting free. If Edu did anything that would be a foul, it happened just as/before Donovan hit the free kick then because I saw that BTN replay and like I described above, Edu takes a curving route around a Slov with no contact before putting the ball in the back of the net.
  22. OK from the time Donovan kicked the ball to the time that the ball was stuck by Edu was probably what 2 seconds, maybe 3 at most? 23. Sorry, can't get off this... But O.M.G. Just saw a close-up of the holding on Altidore on the disallowed GW goal and another US player is getting raped right behind him! And they showed a behind-the-net view of Edu coming up to score the goal, and all he did was take a curving route around a Slov, without touching him, to put the ball in the net, and there was a foul there somewhere?!?! If the US ends up winning their last group game and doesn't advance, that [expletive] ref will be Public Enemy #1 for awhile.
  24. I have seen that replay so many times now, and still all I see is fouls by the Slovs that aren't called. But my glasses are tinted red-white-blue/stars-and-stripes, so that may be affecting the vision some.
  25. Ahh, the fickle nature of sports fans. In the end, I am very content to earn the draw there after the 0-2 start in the opening half, but it just really sticks in the craw when the GWing goal is disallowed not by US fault, but by a ref who was complete [expletive] the whole match. Doing something that wipes out a goal for trying too hard, ok - but seeing the winner taken back because the ref sees something that isn't there?! That's just "argh!".
