Even for a BondsHater like me, Barry is starting to look like a more and more attractive addition to the Cubs' OF. I wouldnt mind that at all if thats what it takes to get a world series. Imagine him in the middle of the lineup. Would be scary At the very least, would be a chance to improve our already really good BB & IBB numbers on the year.

Exactly. And while I'd rather NEVER lose, I'd take losses to teams like the Brewers/Phillies, cause those are acceptable. Struggling and/or losing (@ home) to teams like Cincy and the Nationals is not.

So in 3 innings, we've stranded 2, 3, and 3 respectively. The longer this goes on, the more confident WAS will get. This has all the makings of a most forgettable weekend.

I'm not gonna flame the board in delusion or kill myself in depression, but damn is it hard to swallow to know the best we can do vs the soapdropping Nationals this year is finish the season series at .500 vs them. 13 runs in 4 innings. After 0 in the first 5. Where's the mass-vomit smily??

Well, at the very least, we made up that run that Howry gave up.

Lou brings in Howry into a game when we're 2 down, with the wind howling out - gives up 1 (albeit on grounders). And then PHs Fukudome vs a LHP - grounds out weakly. Way to use that melon, Mr Piniella! ](*,)

This obsession that Lou has with Howry is very unhealthy. Bob is worth at least 1 run allowed for every appearance, and that's on a good day!
