  1. Let the Brewers have Dunn, for that deal, it'll make it that much easier for Hendry to go after Griffey - to make room for Gwynn in Cincy's OF (RF).
  2. Make that 1st & 2nd now, still 1 out, but 6-0 now on the Encarnacion single to right.
  3. Cards shell-shocking the D-Train tonight, 4-0 in the 2nd, and quite a few hits (& xtra base hits) already. Bases jammed, 1 out, top 2.
  4. "How dare that Dave Roberts make me use my shooting hand like he did!? I'm gonna get that (#*@&)'in guy!!!"
  5. This is going to sound extremely two-faced, but while I wouldn't (and don't) root for Sammy's return... I could learn to live with it - if it happened. As mentioned, it would [in theory] do alot to help alleviate the problems vs LHP, but it just wouldn't feel right to campaign for his return, even if interested, IMO. 545 of his 602 homers did come in Cubbie blue, so somehow it would be a bit fitting if he ended his career on the Northside, but again, after how he left and why a couple years ago... its hard to really hope he comes back. Even though it probly wouldn't help our 'needing a RH bat' and 'vs LHP' needs at all, I'd much rather see Hendry get Griffey before Sosa, if it came down to it. However, if Hendry swung a deal for Sosa AND Lofton, it would me a bit more appealing; [vs RHP] Lofton, CF Fontenot, SS Lee, 1B Soriano, LF ARam, 3B Floyd, RF DeRosa 2B Soto, C Pitcher [vs LHP (primarily)] Lofton, CF Theriot, SS Lee, 1B Soriano, LF ARam, 3B Sosa, RF DeRosa, 2B Soto, C Pitcher [vs LHP (occasionally)] Soriano, LF Theriot, SS Lee, 1B ARam, 3B Sosa, RF DeRosa, 2B Soto, C Pie/Pagan, CF Pitcher
  6. Maybe the Reds wouldn't have traded him this year, but seems to be that Griffey is doing what he can to 'force Cincy's hand', by saying he expects to be traded before the deadline, etc. Doesn't necessarily mean the Reds will move him, but his actions are suggesting he wouldn't mind a move to the Cubs - or Braves,
  7. Has there been a new development? If not, its just speculation currently (AFAIK).
  8. Unless Hendry has something else - ie, better - in the works, he and the Cubs brass are letting the team down if a doable deal isn't made to get KGJ on the North Side, for the remainder of this year and next. If it came down to it, I would much prefer KGJ to Dunn every time.
  9. Anyone know when the last time was that the Cubs won 9 of 10? June 12th - June 22nd in 2004. Won 2 @ Anaheim Won 4 @ Houston Lost 1 vs. Oakland Won 2 vs. Oakland Won 1 vs. St. Louis The Cubs went on to go 9-14 in their next 23 games after that stretch. But the LAST time it happened was from May 27th to June 5 in 2005 Won 3 vs. Colorado Won 3 @ Los Angeles Won 1 @ San Diego Lost 1 @ San Diego Won 2 @ San Diego The Cubs went 10-19 in their next 29 games after that stretch. Buzzkill.
  10. For those who can get whatever Alternates these RSNs are, its also on ch.'s 659 (RSNa) and 663 (FSIN). FSIN, as in F.OX S.ports IN.diana??
  11. For those asking what ch. CSNC+ is on DirecTV, its on 668.
  12. I forget exactly where and name of the series, but ESPN anchor said its similar to the World Series there. Anyways, they showed a reel of action down there and Jeremi Gonzalez threw behind Cedeno, and Cedeno yelled at him for a bit, and Gonzalez came in and tried a little girly kick at Ronny. Benches cleared, not sure if there was any real fighting or not. (sorry if already posted or wrong board for this)
