  1. I wonder if this can keep up... would be totally awesome to see a final score of 32-4 (going with the averages).
  2. At this rate, if they're allowed to stay in the whole game, Matsui and a couple of the Rocks at the top of the order are going to have 10-12 ABs in this game, a NINE INNING game.
  3. 16-2 after 4, and it isn't even over quite yet. Insanity.
  4. Haha, "coaching visit to mound" after the bomb to Tulowitzki(?). Coach: "Ok, you suck, we all suck... but let's please try and suck just a little less harder for the next g'd couple of hours, eh!?" :x
  5. 12-2 15-2.
  6. If the Cubs can't find some way to take advantage of one of at least one of these 4 games of bad Brewers losses [ie, tonight], I am gonna implode!! :x
  7. 28 runs in 22 innings (still got 4-5 more today yet) for the Rocks... here's to hoping this offensive onslaugh ends after 26 or 27 innings. If not... we could be in some very deep doo over the next few days.
  8. Might as well call it in and forfeit this one. No Neifi "Juiced" Perez, NO DICE!!
  9. As sad as it is (rooting for Brewer losses to maintain our 1 game back status), someone up there likes the Cubs. Cubs are 0-3 since Sunday, and been woefully bad offensively in doing so... but the Brewers are 0-3 in that same stretch - er, sorry, will be 0-3 in that same stretch.
  10. Just so long as he doesn't get any blisters on his pitching hand while working towards a solution to that problem.
  11. Dear Cubbies; Its only been 2 games, but feels like more... so please, Cubs, don't blow it tonight. Also, we can't keep on counting on the Beermakers to keep pace with your losses, so depending on that is not a realistic option. Let's try and notch a mark in the LEFT hand column this evening. Thanks. Yours Truly, CB29
  12. Soriano is 0-6 vs Rodriguez, so no big loss tonight. I know, I know... bad and pathetic attempt at humor, but I gotta get through this loss somehow.
  13. The Crawford Boxes are a joke, but the rest of the stadium makes up for it, IMO. Now the hill in CF... The whole stadium is a joke. Who the heck puts a flagpole on the field of play? Who the heck puts a hill in the field of play, with a flagpole on top of it!? Can't believe Selig/MLB even allowed that to happen. How do you come up with that, anywho? - "We need something to set this place apart from everywhere else! Ideas?" - "I know! Let's put a treacherous and dangerous incline out in CF, and then stick a flagpole at the top of it, in the FOP, giving the players even more ample opportunities to hurt themselves!!" - "Now THAT's what I'm talking about!!!" - "OOH OOH!! And then like true posers, we put a faux smaller version of the "Green Monster" in short LF, to mimick Fenway!" - "You're a real Einstein!! Make it happen!"
  14. That could be the most common alignment even if Pie IS called up! We all know about Lou's unwillingness - good or bad - to let players (especially the really young ones) to play through bad spells. If Pie can't produce, he'll sit or get sent back down. Here's to hoping he's called up and performs to Lou's liking. Here's to also hoping he gives Murt a chance and he also produces, thus making a normal OF alignment over the next couple/few weeks of Murton/Pie/Floyd-Jones or Murton/Pie/Jones-DeRosa.
  15. What we want/need is a Griffey - or *grumbles* a Dunn - which means we'll end up with a Jay Payton, if anyone. And now with Soriano gone at least 2 weeks, that leaves just one true "power bat" in the lineup on a regular basis - ARam. Although, its not like our HR numbers have been astronomical or anything before this. In regards to Sammy Sosa, er - "The only other OF that has a chance of clearing waivers AND filling a need for this team, won't be considered for PR reasons." - I could live with that kind of deal IF it were for just the remainder of this season (w/ a possibility of being looked at being kept on for next year, but *hopefully* unlikely), and with how he's hitting LHP. True, the RF defense would be pretty much nonexistant, but its not much better with Floyd out there - right?
  16. I'm late to the party... what's the word on Soriano? Possible DL time, or just a precautionary thing by removing him from the game when he hurt himself earlier??
  17. I have 3 rules for you to follow tonight, Cubs. 1. Win 2. Win and the third is... oh yes. Win!
  18. One thing going the Cubs' way is they have a very favorable schedule the rest of the way. Just 15 games left vs teams with a winning record*. 1 vs NY Mets, tomorrow night 4 @ Colorado, Aug 9-12 3 @ Arizona, Aug 24-26 3 vs Brewers, Aug 28-30 4 vs LA Dodgers, Sept 3-6 Combined record of other opponents (HOU [9], CIN [9], StL [8], PIT [6], SF [3], & FLA [3]) is 287-368 (or an average of 48-64). If they can manage to win 7 of the 15 vs playoff contenders and take care of business (mostly) vs the rest, we should be playing for a playoff spot in the final week of September, and the season. * = teams with a winning record, currently
  19. While I agree with most of your post, the Cards are done. Their pitching is baaaaaaaad. Just wait till that Cubs Brewers series if you want to see never wrecking lol Tell me about it. I picked a great week for vacation on that one, I'm hella nervous just thinking about that 3-gamer just before the end of the month. THANK GOD!!! its gonna be in Wrigley and not Beertown.
  20. Thank God its just early August. But all the same... all this see-saw action of winning/not gaining ground, winning/gaining ground, losing/not losing ground, and losing/losing ground is exciting and nerve-wracking at the same time, and we got almost 2 whole more months left of it. Not to mention that even though they are still 7-8 games back, StL is still kinda lurking back there. Not to mention 6 teams all within 2.5 games of each other, in the WC race (7 when/if Cubs & Brewers are tied atop the Central).
  21. How sad. They show the PBP sequence of Bonds' HR, which was hit back in the SECOND inning (now in the 12th), and Bonds isn't even in the game anymore. Nice bat drop and statue-like pose of admiration too, jerkwad (Bonds).
  22. Good to see Michael Barrett isn't holding any grudges... grounds into the inning-ending DP, on to the 12th, still 2-all.
  23. at Mike Cameron's brain falling out of his rear!
  24. Grrr, stupid Cameron!! 2-all now
  25. The good news, though, is the score is 2-1 Bondses (for now), thanks in part to the solo shot that was 755. And ARI is up 6-1 in LA... err, 8-1. (which is awesome) I do agree however, the sooner he hits 756, THE BETTER!!!
