  1. Flyers still getting away with all kinds of cheap shots, hmm.
  2. I, personally, only just really got into the Blackhawks during the Canucks WCS series. And even though what very little I know about the game came in watching those games (& other playoff games), it has been a fun as hell ride. Missed the 5-1 losses to Nashville in the opening round and then the Canucks, so maybe that helps my overall enthusiasm, but every game I've watched has been uber-exciting for the most part. I know I just literally hopped on the bandwagon this postseason, but while watching G3, I haven't found myself so sports-related emotionally tied in knots since the Bears-Colts SB and both the '07 & '08 Cubs' playoff stints. Seeing that game-winning goal slide under Niemi hurt bad at the time and for a time after the game. And somehow I knew that Philly's 3rd goal, right after Kane's breakaway goal, was gonna be a backbreaker to the 'Hawks. Even though I am a 'noob' to the game in all senses of the word, the Blackhawks need to find a way to counter Pronger/Carcillo/Hartnell's 'bully' tactics and also need to be more productive on their power play opportunities. Not saying the Flyers haven't done a decent job in penalty killing, but Chicago looked seriously inept in all 3 PP opps on Wednesday night. Others have pointed it out, but also need to keep the Flyers out of their zone a little better than have been. Shots on goal disparity is really quite glaring a lot of the time in SCF so far.
  3. This is me too (although the Blackhawks have sure made me sit up and take notice of a Chicago team with a legit shot at a title); but after these playoffs, I promise to make a more concerted effort to watch the 'Hawks and hockey more next season. That said, even with my admitted limited knowledge of the sport... in terms of not allowing the Flyers any real momentum and feelings of confidence, Friday night's game 4 just became a "must win" for the Blackhawks, even though they are still ahead in the series at 2-1 going in. Will I automatically write them off if they lose Friday night? No, but the Flyers already survived a 0-3 start in a series in these playoffs and if they can even things up at 2-2, #-o. And please, for the love of all that is holy, Chicago... (at least try to) match their intensity and hit back on Friday night!
  4. Believe me, Fuk's 0-8 has got me hopping mad. But what about Soriano's 1-9 (a 1B)? Trying to out-do last year's 2-14 performance, I guess. Wed. night's 1-5 hitters went a sparkling 2-21, or something very close. I think the Cubs left the offense back in September.
  5. I think the reason it hurts so much, is because we allowed ourselves to believe that this could be the year that we go to the World Series, let alone win it. I mean, cmon. 97 wins, best in NL, tons of great offensive stats, etc, and then we go and lay a complete goose egg in the first 2 games. As if its not bad enough to be down 0-2 (both games @ Wrigley), its how they lost. These weren't hard fought/knock-down-drag-out games... we just plain got our azzes handed to us. Pitching & lack of offense yesterday and errors & lack of offense today. Looked like complete Howry right out of the gate (save for DeRosa's wwind-aided HR and Z's performance on the mound tonight). The ONE thing, besides starting pitching, we had going into this that we should have felt pretty safe in relying upon, has yet to even sniff a wake up call; the offense. I'd be SOO glad to be wrong - and the Cubs, at the very least, force a G5 back in Wrigley - but I truly believe this "WAS great" season ends this weekend in LA. Being a Cubs fan, I should be very used to the disappointment, but I'd be lying if I said it doesn't hurt any at all.
  6. Cubs are done ruining my night...... got other things to do. Will get score updates time and again... but no sense padding the post count with mindless drivel about about a bunch of choking losers.
  7. Very small Fake Rally time again. wooooooo...... :-&
  8. Sad thing is... Z is pitching winning baseball. Thanks for nothing, you suckazz IFs!!!!!
  9. It really does make one wonder if there really is something to this effing curse and whatnot. How do you be the best team in the NL, 97-wins, all those stats, etc etc etc and just completely wet the bed when it comes to the games that absolutely matter the most? This ain't just a mega-choke job.
  10. Alfonso wishes he could hit like Sosa. I would give up soooo much to have Sosa in RF right now, over Fukucopter.
  11. Oh wait, I forgot who was up. What a Sori playoff bust.
  12. Small Fake Rally time. Get a couple walks, maybe a run or two........... and then Z comes out and gives up some more. Its in the script.
  13. Fuk-u-dome. Seriously. Eff you too Lou. You KNOW he sucks, but hey... let's keep trotting him out there. Only thing this game needs now, when Z comes out, is Howry. Let's make it a perfect night.
  14. This organization will never win another World Series. Ever. Hell, they'll be lucky to just GET to another World Series.
  15.
  16. Thank goodness I don't keep any loaded weapons in my home. Cause if this game ends like its trending... it'd be "goodbye, cruel world".
  17. Is this the 19-- Black Sox scandal???? KEE-RIIIIIIIST!!!!!!!! :banghead:
  18. See that old fogey in green & pink hat and the lady next to him, behind the LH batters box?? Either wake the eff up and get the eff out!!!! I don't care if it does mean less people there, if you ain't there to cheer, GET. THE. EFF. OUT!!!
  19. Didn't see the game (working). What was up with the Cabrera/Balfour "confrontation"? WTH preceded that?? Just Ozzie's WS being Ozzie's WS? Loved that Balfour K'd him and showed him the bench.
  20. Sounds like an omen... only time will tell if it = good or bad.
  21. Definitely a love of money there, cause she ain't didn't fall for his good looks.
