  1. Per Wittenmeyer's Twitter updates on suntimes.com He goes on to say that Shark is going to the pen, Marshall is staying in the rotation, and Cotts is not going anywhere. http://blogs.suntimes.com/cubs/
  2. Suntimes blog mentions a 7:15 start time tonight. Tarp coming off the field.
  3. All I know is that he's likely to miss his start against the Cubs on Sunday. That's good enough for me! That said, I'd hate to see it be something serious. You have to admire his comeback effort, and would hate to see it be all for nothing.
  4. ESPN's Bottom Line must be following Gameday.... because there was a "SCORE ALERT" saying the final was 9-6 AZ.... Then about a minute later...there was another "SCORE ALERT" which actually subtracted runs from the Dbacks to reflect the accurate 7-6 final.
  5. Didn't Harden strike out 10 on his own last Friday??? :D
  6. Were you there last night? Awesome atmosphere last night, and a huge win for the Hogs. If you were there, I'm regretful that we didn't have the chance to discuss the proper pronunciation of the Hawks #4 over a cold one! :D
  7. I sure hope we don't have to wait til the deadline for a decent LH reliever.
  8. Just the first of many no decisions coming up for Harden.
  9. That's exactly what I thought... and it's JALMARSSON!!! :-)) :-)) :-))
  10. So explain to me someone, how the Hawks clinched? We have 100 points with 2 games left. Vancouver has 96 points with 2 games left. If they run the table and end up with 100 points, wouldn't they own the tiebreaker with 45 wins to our 44?
  11. Nope they both clinched, lol... they are both playing for nothing now. I'm not so sure -- the Hawks have 100 points right now -- Vancouver could still make 100, and if they did, they'd own the tiebreaker with 45 wins to the Hawks 44. We need to get to 101
  12. ITS YALMARSSON!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! <3 Now you're just being a jackass!!! :D :D
  13. 2 points is 2 points!!! Doesn't matter to us that SJ got another point out of it... It only matters to them & the Red Wings...
  14. Yea and Foley pisses me off every time he tries to pronounce it. Butchers the crap out of it. Hjalmarsson... you don't pronounce the damn J! Actually, the J is pronounced. He's played in Rockford for the better part of the past two seasons, and I listen to or attend just about every game. The announcers on the radio, and even the PA Announcer at the Rockford MetroCentre pronounces his name with the J... I'd assume that someone in the organization would correct the announcers if the name was being erroneously pronounced. Sorry man, this is just incorrect... Here is the Swedish pronounciation of "hjä´lpa": http://www2.hhs.se/isa/swedish/9-74.wav (NOTE: hjä´lpa is a perfect example to use. If you take the dots off the "ä" it is pronounced "yahl'pa" or how "yahlmarsson" is pronounced correctly. The ä makes the sound of a long "a" like in cat.) When a "tj" or a "sj" come together it makes the "shhh" sound (See Frederik Sjöström - prounced Shoe-strum). The only time you even get close to the English "J" sound is in a word like "kjol"... but even then its a word most Americans can't pronounce on their palate as it puts the tongue in an awkward position on the roof of the mouth. kjol - http://www2.hhs.se/isa/swedish/9-79.wav Sorry to be nit picky, but I speak Swedish and Finnish ;) I'm not discrediting your knowledge in any way shape or form... I'm just telling you how it's been pronounced by every member of the local media here, and by every employee of the Rockford IceHogs organization that I know!
  15. I wouldn't be so sure about that. If Samardzija gets sent to the minors and we need a spot start, we would probably turn to the long man. Chad Gaudin looks like he will probably be the long guy and spot starter. Sure if a guy is on the DL, then we would go with Samardzija. But were not gonna make a roster move for one random start. I would tend to think that Heilman would be penciled in as the spot starter... he's certainly done nothing to persuade me otherwise.

  17. Gaudin crapped the bed again today as well, giving up 2 runs, walking 1, striking out nobody in an inning of work. Vizcaino gave up a solo HR but also K'd the side in his inning.
  18. Burish starts the road trip out nicely, assists to Campbell and Fraser at 3:07
  19. I'm willing to bet a few bucks that it would be WGN-720 that announces the starting number.
  20. Wisniewski will be back for the Columbus game, and boy is he ready! Just saw him play for Rockford tonight against the Wolves... how's this line for you... 3 goals, 1 assist, #1 star of the game...
  21. Exactly..He hasn't done anything for us since he's been here. Always hurt or was never that effective when he was healthy..Might be a bullpen guy down the line, thats about it..But you gotta trade him if its for Peavy By not doing anything for us, I'm guessing you're referring to the lack of a single "W" at the major league level. Hendry cannot be this stupid....please tell me... Hendry cannot be this stupid to let a guy with ZERO wins in the majors and a history of injuries stand in the way of Jake freaking Peavy
  22. This is officially more maddening than the Brian Roberts fiasco last year.
