  1. We really don't have any room in our pen...
  2. If he goes down with an injury, maybe insurance will cover it. :?
  3. Hendry showed you some love, Vance. Go easy on him this season.
  4. The Bears also played the easiest schedule in the NFL, whereas the Colts had a middle of the pack strength of schedule... and the Bears' strength of victory was in the bottom third of the NFL, whereas the Colts' strength of victory was 4th in the NFL. Yup. The Bears have no right to be in the Super Bowl. Where's the AP Poll when you need it? Get over yourself. Truffle's making a case for Indy being a better team over the course of the year than the Bears (a case I find hard to argue with although I am also picking the Bears to win), not that the Bears have no right to be there. Recognize the difference before you make posts like that. It's called sarcasm. Dry your eyes. Yes, and he's politely telling you not to be a smart ass. He obviously knows it's sarcasm. Actually, he didn't. Thanks for your $0.02. Back to talking about football...

It's been near impossible to tell the sarcasm from the genuine anger considering some of the discussions I've seen this playoffs. True. True. Sorry if I ruffled your feathers. It wasn't intentional.

  8. When the Bears win the SB, all those tools should be fired.
  9. LMFAO! love the sig. WHOOOOOOOHOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!
  10. We're eventually going to have Soriano, Murton, and Pie in the OF. The best defensive alignment with those 3 players is Murton in LF, Pie in CF, and Soriano in RF. It's pretty silly to give away runs with Soriano in CF and Pie in RF just so we don't have to pick up a placeholder like Erstad or whomever. Just stick Jones/Theriot in CF until Pie comes up. It won't be long.
  11. Tell her you're tired of cleaning up her s**t and you want breadsticks too.
  12. Actually Lou and the whole coaching staff was really impressive. They really are going to preach fundamentals, pride, swagger, and playing the game the right way. Alan Trammel seemed like a no nonsense type of guy. It was fun hearing what he had to say...And I like everything Rothschilds said. Espcially his view on why so many young pitchers get hurt. Please elaborate! :D
  13. Poor control, struggled early in the season, was demoted to the pen and had some lost velocity (came back into the rotation with fixed his mechanics and his velocity back and did much better, which is why I think BA is underrating him). Dude's got some makeup questions after coming to camp out of shape. He basically cost himself a promotion this season and delayed his MLB debut by 1/2 a season at least. I fully expect the boot to the backside the Cubs gave him last season will motivate him this offseason. Hopefully we don't go through a success builds complacency deal with him ever again.
  14. I'm going to like Lou.
  15. Hopefully Jones learned how to throw this offseason. I can't take another season of his crap arm in RF. It's like watching Eckstein play RF. I think it's been awhile since Floyd played RF. Most of his ABs are going to come at Murton's expense. Lou won't play the vet card like Dusty did, but it look like Matt has to prove something to the Cubs before they'll just give him his 550-600 ABs.
  16. This doesn't make sense. If soriano is playing CF it's because were are not gonna play Pie yet and we will have Jones in right. It absolutely makes sense. Soriano has said he wants one position and to be left there. Putting him in CF now and moving him to RF when Pie arrives is silly. Making him learn two new positions is not best for Soriano or the team's defense. I guarantee you Jones plays a better CF right now than Soriano does. Pie leaves them both in the dust.
  17. If Pie really is going to play for the Cubs in '07, we need to put the best defender in CF. That's not Soriano.
  18. When's the deadline for calling up a player so you extend his arbi clock by 1 year? Theriot/Jones should be serviceable in CF until Pie is called up from AAA.
  19. Points For: Bears - 427 Saints - 413 Points Against: Bears - 255 Saints - 322 Record: Bears 13-3 Saints 10-6 You can find all the stats you want about percentage of 3 and outs forced or percentage of runs for a yard or less, but you can't find a stat that matter more than the 3 above. That's how freaking good the Bears defense was at the beginning of the year. It hides the last 4 games or so. Our defense has sucked since Harris went down. It was headed downhill after Brown went out for the season. Thank God we have an offense this year.
  20. That's freaking great. Wilken's first draft with the Cubs was awesome. I think Samardzija is going to be a stud.
  21. Be careful with using hits as a measure of a hitter's value. Juan Pierre led the majors in hits last season and that didn't do the Cubs a whole lot of good. That's not to say Colvin will end up like Pierre, but it's a problematic way of viewing hitters. Pierre led baseball in hits b/c he played so fricking much and he led off. H/AB or H/G would drop him in the list considerably. 100 H in 69 G is pretty darn good (i.e. 1.45 H/G).
  22. The names are for foos who don't follow the team. :x
