  1. Wow. Despite the fact it wasn't turned... Wow.
  2. I'm kind of hoping Z gets to go one more inning.
  3. Pretty good play just to make sure that turned into one out.
  4. I just had a flashback to a 2007 game where the entire infield went to the mound for a popup and they all stared at it as it dropped.
  5. Urgh. Thought that was going to be a DP. Oops.
  6. i think there was like 1 person on this board who wasn't completely against the idea of signing ibanez. It was me and that person. Aside from Dunn who I didn't consider realistic, I wanted Ibanez. Now I'm not going to pretend I thought he'd do what he's doing in Philly, but I figured he was a safe bet for a 120ish OPS+ bat that would be in the lineup every day.

  8. http://voices.washingtonpost.com/dcsportsbog/2009/06/nationals_fireworks_fail.html This is too perfect.
  9. Busts don't get much bigger than Harvey.
  10. I don't think this is the first time you've used "White Sox." Stop it, for the sake of all of us.
  11. Ooh, ooh, I got it. Aaron Miles. Get used to him, because we'll be seeing a lot of him over the next month. enjoy. You're trying to imply that Aaron Miles isn't a lot better than Shea Hillbenbrand, right?
  12. Are we all doing our part and voting Riot into the All Star Game?
  13. Can someone remind me why we should be overly concerned about K:BB ratios for hitters?
  14. I think the pen is being "figured out." Lou is realizing that the best arms are guys like Ascanio and Guzman (and Marmol eventually, I'd think). It just took him a while to realize that.
  15. Yeah his first start in MIL. I was thinking it was only a matter of time until he started getting hammered. He wasn't throwing a lot of strikes and he seemed to be giving up a lot of hard hit balls but they were just at guys. But since then he has looked legit, getting ahead, low number of BB, etc. He kind of reminds of Clement when he was here and effective. Getting ahead, low number of BB, not dependent on pure stuff... that doesn't sound even a bit like Matt Clement.

  17. So umm... how good is this guy?
  18. I just heard about this from my mother. Very sad.
  19. I'm a believer! I was angry that he was bumping Marshall from the rotation, but it's hard to be right now.
  20. Abreu: .294/.396/.406 in 212 PAs Burrell: .250/.349/.315 in 126 PAs Ibanez: .330/.388/.679 in 242 PAs Dunn: .258/.391/.557 in 238 PAs Dunn was the most popular target around here along with Bradley. Ibanez was probably the least. At least we didn't get Burrell!
  21. I'm glad Derrek Lee is playing well. He's too nice of a guy to stay mad at.
  22. For a major league debut? That's a standing O anywhere.
