  1. Len is so hesitant with his home run calls.
  2. I don't think it's fair to say there's any single acquisition that would have caused them to beat Boston that year. Larry Walker was a tremendously successful Cardinal who helped them win a pennant. However you define "over the top," he was absolutely outstanding as a Cardinal, and using him as an argument against Holliday simply doesn't work.
  3. It depends how you define put over the top. I'd say there's a pretty reasonable chance that losing the .950 OPS that Walker put up as a Cardinal very well might have cost them a trip to the World Series. You never know, but it's not like he was just okay. He was simply awesome in a Cardinal uniform. If Holliday puts up a .950 OPS or anywhere close to it, I'd say that might just put St. Louis "over the top" in the division.
  4. Yeah but he still doesn't hustle blah blah blah
  5. Er, Larry Walker played excellently for the Cardinals and was a key part in the 2004 NL Champions. He was very good in 2005 too. Not sure why you're making that comparison to try and discredit St. Louis.
  6. The injuries on this team are simply unbelievable.
  7. MLB.tv is way behind. Fontenot just homered for me.
  8. I have a feeling we're witnessing the beginning of the end of Wells. Fontenot sure isn't helping, though.
  9. Reference to letting Josh Hamilton go as a mistake makes me a sad and angry panda.
  10. I'm a bit worried that the acquisition of Holiday will make Hendry overpay for Sanchez.
  11. That lineup is perfectly constructed. Use it every single day, Lou.
  12. You're really conceding the division to St. Louis? Really?
  13. How was the Walker trade anything but very good?
  14. Is the anti-Sox snark really necessary?
  15. Someone just a few posts above was being negative about it.
  16. Mark Buehrle is all kinds of awesome. He's going to be a borderline Hall of Famer when all is said and done.
  17. My buddy left this game early. hahahahahahaha
  18. It sure looks like the Cards will be adding a bat of some sort, be it Holliday or Dunn. That's more than a little scary.
  19. I'm quite sure Dontrelle Willis wasn't really helping any of our rankings.
  20. We're currently tied with them in late July. I know we've been focusing on the Cardinals and Brewers, but what about Houston? For what it's worth, they have been outscored by their opponents by about 15 runs this season.
  21. I like Brenly... then again, I liked what I heard from Moreland when he was with Pat too.
  22. I'm still a big believer in Hee Seop Choi. I think if handled properly he really could have been a good player.
  23. Was it Ron or Harry that once went on a long rant about cracker jack prizes?
  24. Has anyone heard anything on what Houston is trying to do at the deadline? I really haven't seen anything. I don't think they have the payroll (or the prospects) to get anything of any significance done. If they hope to contend, it'll be with this team.
