  1. I'm really hoping this is the first of quite a few starts this year for Gallagher.
  2. You were thinking of the Tigers. I don't recall the Padres ever being mentioned.
  3. What website? I'm confused. He must be talking about WSI, but yeah, it was kind of out of no where.
  4. I understand the over-doing of "shutting the door", but these were the D-backs, not the Pirates. Maybe Lou felt that after the 7th inning rally, he wanted to take ZERO chances and still keep Wood for tomorrow? Fox hasn't exactly looked other-worldy lately, and who else was available? Wuertz? the move wasn't ideal, but I certainly don't think it was completely stupid. One thing not to overlook is that the Cubs have a good chance to SWEEP the D-backs now. THATS an accomplishment. And they'd almost certainly still have the chance to sweep them if Marmol wasn't used yesterday. In fact, they'd have a better chance, as Carlos is probably unavailable today.
  5. The Red Sox have a big enough payroll that they can tolerate Lugo's contract on the bench (and it won't be long before they do just that).
  6. He just hit his 9th home run and his line coming into tonight was .279/.407/.559. I know Kenny Williams makes some really dumb trades, but it doesn't look like this was one of them. Back to studying for finals.
  7. He worked yesterday. That's plenty fresh.
  8. Gagne clearly lets out a couple f-bombs if you watch the highlight of Luwick's go ahead hit on MLB.com. Good stuff.
  9. It's May...so don't beat yourself up over it. Just enjoy the Cubs winning their first series vs. AZ since 2003 It wouldn't have surprised me one bit if that sentence would still have been accurate if you stopped after "series."
  10. Like everyone else, I'm not sure if I'm happy or sad with that result.
  11. I'm still not sure who to root for in this series. Personally, I'd rather be in a pennant race with the Cardinals because it would be even more satisfying to see them blow it.
  12. Eh, if Soriano's busted his slump, Soto's started one. It's too soon to say.
  13. Pouring it on is pretty fun. Make em pay, guys.
  14. For a second I thought that was a liner that Ojeda caught. That would've been a frustrating double play.
  15. Yeah yeah, we get that you like Theriot.
  16. Haha another play at the plate gets us much needed insurance.
  17. That's the Daryle Ward we know and love!
  18. Oh boy, Scott Eyre pitching can't lead to anything good.
