  1. Another home run would be awesome, Alfonso.
  2. Gorzelanny is a jerk and I love beating up on him.
  3. When he's hot, there is no one more fun to watch than Soriano.
  4. I don't agree. Do these "paper champ" lineups ever work out as well as people think they will? Are the Detroit Tigers scoring 1000 runs yet? I mean seriously. Let's dig up the Miguel Cabrera thread trade where everyone handed them the World Series. If we could afford Holliday we'd be smarter to use those resources for pitching. Under no circumstances would I send Soriano back to 2nd. They might not work out as well as people think they will, but they're still almost always elite offenses.
  5. Considering Edmonds would've had a three run homer on most days, I can't blast his debut. That one at bat with the bases loaded was terrible though.
  6. As long as its not Lou doing the booing, he'll stay int he lineup I really get the impression from his PC yesterday that Lou isn't all that excited about this signing. I'd be stunned if Lou wasn't the one pushing for this.
  7. There must be a lot of Cardinals fans in attendance, because only they would give a standing ovation to an opposing player.
  8. Just keep pouring it on, guys. I don't want another Padres comeback to make it interesting.
  9. It's about time we started capitalizing on these chances.
  10. I just tuned in, so what was the reaction to Edmonds first at bat? Standing ovation?
  11. Have we got a nickname for Edmonds yet?
  12. I'm not angry. It's just obvious they didn't need to call Hoffpair up when Edmonds fell into their laps. They stopped pursuing Byrd when Reed Johsnon fell into their laps too. I'm not trying to be mysterious either. I happen to be friendly with "people" and feel the stuff I put on this board is harmless, just like a reporter would. I'm suprised more people wouldn't be appreciative of the angles. But you're not a reporter. I could do the same thing you're doing.
  13. You're right. We should come up with a nickname to make him feel welcome. Jimbo? Eddy? JED? FukuEdmonds? Douche bag works for me.
  14. This is one of the worst offensive teams in baseball! Stop giving them big innings!
  15. Yeah, I have no faith in our ability to hold this lead.
  16. Edmonds has passed his physical and will be in uniform tomorrow.
  17. So... since the players have covered for Lou's mistakes, he's excused for all of them? its easy to "arm chair" manage.....lous record this year, and over his career show that he knows what he is doing...im not trying to be mean, but hey, a win is a win, and if the cubs are in first, to me, im happy about it.....thats all im saying..... So Dusty Baker was a good manager in '03? '03??? Seriously I dont care about that ... I want the cubs to finally win now... So if dusty was good or bad in 2003 means nothing to me now.... Ah, ignoring the face that your ridiculous argument just got shot down is much easier than actually responding to it.
  18. Mark DeRosa's phantom home run to avoid the sweep against Philly has to be on the "should have lost" list.
