  1. I just tuned in, would anyone mind telling me how Z's looked?
  2. In-cred-ible. Ri-dic-ulous. Pre-nuptial. Count Chocula. Hysterical.
  3. The moral of the story is that the use of the word "meatball" is becoming more annoying than anything else on the history of this board.
  4. But has absolutely no chance to be, unfortunately. By my calculation, Aramis is probably the fourth best third baseman in baseball right now. Only A-Rod, Wright, and Chipper could be picked ahead of him. Am I wrong?
  5. Let's assume for the moment that the Cubs that are leading the vote right now stay in front (and given Soto's margin, as well as Soriano and Fukudome's popularity, I think they will). Zambrano will also make the game, possibly as the starting pitcher. Marmol might be selected. Both Aramis and D-Lee have a chance. Dempster has a shot. This could be the most All Stars the Cubs have had in... ever?
  6. http://mlb.mlb.com/news/article.jsp?ymd=20080528&content_id=2786521&vkey=allstar2008&fext=.jsp There's some other positions that got voted on as well. In fact, there's a Cub in the top five of every single one. C: Geovany Soto (!) 1B: Lance Berkman 2B Chase Utley 3B: Chipper Jones SS: Hanley Ramirez OF: Soriano, Fukudome, Griffey
  7. Do you really want Soriano's and Beltran's contracts on this team? Sure, because Beltran is good and the Mets would almost certainly pay a chunk of it.
  8. As fun as it is to bash Edmonds, that is a pretty good attitude. It is just a game.
  9. Eh. I don't like Soto hitting second at all.
  10. Edmonds? He's 3rd. I dunno why, but I'm hoping (not expecting) that Edmonds can become somewhat serviceable for us. Every time I see Fontenot in the game I get really, really angry because you know exactly what he's going to give you. A .778 OPS? This irrational Fontenot hate is so annoying. We know exactly what to expect with Fontenot and it's not as bad 95% of this board seems to think. He's a pretty decent hitter, especially for someone who doesn't even start.
  11. As good as the White Sox have been, it's just hilarious how badly Buehrle has pitched. Coming into tonight's game his WHIP was almost 1.50. His ERA sits at 5.48 after giving up five runs in the first.
  12. lol...because you bring him up in EVERY SINGLE thread. It boggles my mind why you guys never seem use the ignore feature. It got old months ago.
  13. There's some fun lines on this team... Brian Schnider .259/.328/.321 Carlos Delgado .215/.294/.387 Luis Castillo .259/.361/.322 Oliver Perez 89 ERA+ 1.547 WHIP Mike Pelfrey 76 ERA+ 1.776 We're supposed to hate this team. Let's get to it.
  14. Out of curiosity, what way is better defensively, Sori at 2B and DeRosa in LF or the way it is now? DeRo at 2b. Soriano was absolutely embarrassing at 2nd base. I don't think I've ever seen a worse 2b in the last 20 years. He was a SS, was he really that bad there? I thought Washington moved him because they already had Vidro there but I do remember not being the best 2B in MLB. Vidro was no longer a good 2bman at that time, and they let him have the slot over Soriano. Soriano was the worst defensive 2b while in Texas that I ever recall seeing. He was nothing less than an absolute butcher. He was bad, but I disagree with you thinking that he was the worst defender in baseball at second. He was bad, but he wasn't as bad as you're making him out to be. I'd be completely for moving him to second.
  15. Not even worth reading. That's absolute garbage journalism.
  16. That rotation is absolute garbage. It's either going to be Cleveland or the Sox. I'd put my money on the Sox.
  17. Just tuned back in. Soriano seriously dropped a fly ball that would've ended the game? Jesus Christ.
