  1. bad read by Happ. He should have scored. Baez, Heyward, others score on that. There is zero chance he gets thrown out at third if Lindor gets to that because he has to go so far to his left - runner on second should be able to read that.
  2. I like the idea of Barca better . . . I don't think he'll get minutes at Bayern. Anyway, since no one knows this guy . . . https://www.espn.com/soccer/barcelona/story/4182864/barcelona-boss-koeman-singles-out-us-youth-de-la-fuente-in-friendly-win
  3. https://www.espn.com/mlb/story/_/id/29812877/major-league-baseball-umpire-joe-west-never-missed-call-just-ask-him
  4. surprising. http://www.espn.com/mlb/stats/parkfactor/_/sort/HRFactor 2019 numbers suggest above is sample size issue http://www.espn.com/mlb/stats/parkfactor/_/year/2019/sort/HRFactor
  5. Could also be because both teams are full of players who knock the horsefeathers out of the ball. easily checked with park factors. SD has definitely been a tough place to hit home runs.
  6. For sure, but also Sixto Sanchez might get them past the first round. In a greatish year for rookie pitchers, he's easily the one who might take over a playoff series kind of tough for a pitcher to take over a playoff series with no rest days, isn't it?
  7. I guess I've always seen Adams in that role - not through my own expertise - I thought it was kind of a known thing. Anyway, glad to see he'll be playing there for Leipzig.
  8. So, how will they pick who plays where? The division series for the NL are either at Houston or Arlington. Do we have a preference? We seem to have a lot of lefty oppo power (not sure where that stands against other teams). How has the new park at Arlington played? NLCS and WS are both in Arlington. AL to play in SD and LA for Division series and SD. Definite offense suppression there - maybe not good for White Sox.
  9. How do we feel about facing the Cardinals, rivarly bragging rights aside? For some reason Flaherty, Hudson, Wainwright looks great on paper but doesn't really terrify me, especially if we can neutralize one of them with Darvish. The only hitter that truly scares me is Goldschmidt. They have other solid hitters but not ones that scare me. Of course they are probably saying the same thing about our lineup... you think we have a hitter that scares them?
  10. Brewers going 3-2 works for me. 4-1 would be fine as long as the Cubs get one against Cleveland. Would mean neither team picks up much on us. Brewers go 3-2, Cubs split, Brewers pick up a 1/2 game and the Cards lose a 1/2 game. had the brewers won, the reds would have been a half game back.
  11. in the 9th? Is my gameday behind? Haha, still haven't gotten used to these 7th inning DHs. I knew it was the last AB so my mind just assumed it was the 9th. wrong again! :-)
  12. frankly, I don't think it matters who wins - splitting the ten games is perfect. The Cardinals need to go 8-0 in their 7 extra games to catch the cubs . . .
  13. in the 9th? Is my gameday behind?
  14. Having Mount and Kante out there together is silly.
  15. Mou isn't exactly Mr. Positive is he?
  16. Indeed. Ha, they cut to the studio guy who carefully avoided mentioning the no-hitter - as soon as they went back, Len proclaimed it loud and clear.
  17. yea, I don't see it in my guide either though I'm pretty sure I've seen MLS games before. I did not watch Spurs as it was not on . . . I watched Palace and Southampton yesterday though. I figured. Just wanted to make a joke (though maybe not) about Spurs being mediocre. yea, I got it - written like a true cubs fan . . . I think Everton did really well to pick up James - they are not a lower tier team (though likely still caught in mid-table mediocrity). I don't see a whole lot of reason to think Spurs will be any better this year - did they make any changes?
  18. So you watched the Spurs game this morning then? As for the MLS, I have no idea if we get the Earthquakes games locally. I did a quick search on my guide and it shows up on a Spanish network but that’s it. yea, I don't see it in my guide either though I'm pretty sure I've seen MLS games before. I did not watch Spurs as it was not on . . . I watched Palace and Southampton yesterday though.
  19. that's what it takes to throw a no-hitter for a Mills.
  20. I think we may get Earthquakes games locally anyway - hoping soccer10k would chime in. I didn't know the Bundesliga was moving to ESPN+. That sucks. I may have to check it out. Thanks for the input!
  21. wow. awesome for Alec. Brutal 24 hours for Brewers fans.
  22. I think Javy scoring on the appeal throw to second had to be rock-bottom.
  23. Only national game today is Galaxy/San Jose on TUDN and (for some reason) Twitter. The Galaxy have been on a nice run even without Chicharito, but San Jose is, uh, well they did this on Thursday: If you have ESPN+(or were considering it with the Bundesliga going there), Sporting KC/Minnesota are both solid MLS teams, and Portland/LAFC would be a marquee matchup if both teams weren’t ravaged by injuries. What's TUDN?
  24. Is there a decent MLS game on nationally (ESPN?) that I can watch. Watched some lower level Premier League this weekend and would be curious to compare.
  25. I think Heyward has become my favorite player.
