That isn't enough in my opinion. That is completely unacceptable and I think he should just be banned. A bat is a potentially deadly weapon and no player should ever be allowed to use one against an umpire or another player. IF its anything short of a season ban, baseball will be making a huge mistake.

Holy Crap! I just saw the video - that bat was thrown hard. It honestly wouldn't bother me if he was banned from baseball. Assault on an umpire is a huge huge deal to me.

you've been around long enough to know about the BRS curse . . . just be thankful hafner is only one of the walks. I wouldn't give up though, your offense is good enough to make up the deficit and its not like I have Bronson Arroyo starting . . .

wow...not only are you putting this week's game in the bag, but you're already counting next week as a win too? two words: bulletin board. heh, we seem about even going into tomorrow given my two start advantage so far. my offense needs to come back to life! edited to add eyeroll :roll: i don't know about it being even. you're up 30 right now, and you had two QS (never would have guessed shitty washburn would have pitched so well) to my one. you'll be up by at least 35 starting tomorrow. you have two starts left (westbrook and garcia), i have three (beckett, myers and perez). i'd feel a little bit better about things if i hadn't lost patterson. my offense sucks this week too. i had 51 rbis last week, 10 so far this week. teix needs to quit hitting like sean casey have a three homer game or something. the A's have good pitching . . . sort of. I thought you had two more starts so yea, I would agree I am ahead then. Beckett is the only one of those starters I have any confidence in though - hopefully Pronk rips him!

will be leaving the minor leagues . . . but not headed to Tampa. I think at least 60 games should be given for assaulting an umpire - no matter how softly he threw the bat. That is just not acceptable.

yea, I had a little bit of a down week last week and Matt got me - he has a pretty good team though so I don't I will be his last victim! What do we both have six starts? I only had five last week.

the problem is that with the team the cubs now have, they will struggle with the weak teams who you really need to beat the crap out of to win the division. at full strength, the cubs still will have a hard time being better than .500 against the good teams.

its a sprain - Lee will be back in a week or two. think of it as a really big trade - cubs give up rusch, williams and restovich for wood, prior and lee. -
