as BK pointed out, Lee's injury is likely to cost the cubs 2 or 3 wins. The reason St. Louis won without Rolen is because they were a good team. The Cubs without Lee are not that much worse than with Lee. In other words, the Lee injury hurts, but is not a valid reason for this team to fail on its own. Its a bad excuse.

Agreed. If used properly, he could be a good innings eating garbage man, but the only problem with that is that there will not be very many situations for him to come in since we wouldn't have him in the rotation anymore. I'd DFA him - Williams can cover that role. You also don't have bosses that wouldn't be very happy with you losing 5 million dollars. He isn't going to be DFA'd. I didn't say he would be - that's just what I would do. You can hope someone claims him. But that would be too much egg on Jim's face. oh, btw, I am pretty sure I would be fired if I lost 5 million dollars.

Anything that takes Rusch out of the rotation, including bringing back Rick Reuschel. we could use rick's bat these days too!
